Pali the cockatiel is fairly new to extreme freediving. Her kind does not really belong into the ocean after all. That doesn't stop her from trying though and luckily she has a great teacher: Ta'hira. The otter lady has tons of experience and has taught the avian how to stay calm when there is a roof over her head and even later when the exit to the ocean isn't even in sight.
Pali has prepared well. Daily breathholding exercises for months by now and she has a proper diving mask plus a noseclip. She even got herself a sweet new swimsuit - which totally is not like the one she always wore before; so she claims at least.
Ta'hira is more natural. For dives like these she ditches her blue sarong at least as the skimpy bikini results in less drag underwater. As far as exercises go, her aquatic nature as an otter helps greatly. So she is confident that they will make it through this cave with only little strain on their lungs~
