Due to the region being largely abandoned, the former Violight Kingdom in its current form could not provide enough electric ions to cause this evolution to occur. Current theories suggest, based on the sole Trainer's observations, this was the result of a Quilladin ending up in the past. Regardless of origin, this marks the existence of the only Grass/Electric Pokemon brought about by means other than a Rotom inhabiting a lawnmower. Apart from being slightly faster and having slightly less physical defense, this Chesnaught has more abilities. Its Spiky Shield can cause paralysis as well as damage, and it gains access to the move Thundershock. Due to the rather intense change, it seems this specific Pokemon gained the ability Motor Drive upon evolution. It is unclear if a more controlled situation would allow it to keep the basic ability Overgrow. Unfortunately as this Chesnaught belongs to a Trainer, studies remain inconclusive. |
