Last night at work, I got to doodling this during training class for a new contract that I am going to be working on later this month. This is just a basic idea as to what Ainoko's dirk looks like. I can honestly say that my freehand skills have a lot to be desired, but I did do a good job on the right half of the dirk. If anyone wants to do a full rendering of this feel free to do so and link me to it.
I know that dirks are not this long, but this what those in Ainoko's universe calls weapons like this.
Now here are the specifics for the dirk:
Nightshade the Dragon Slayer
Nightshade is 30" long and 2.5" wide with barbed edges, the blade is forged from a clear Star Crystal with a faint blue tint, it has a blood channel running most of it's length with ornate black etchings on it as well, it also has two 9" semi-ridged forged metal whip-like blades flanking the main blade. With the hilt, the dirk is 38" long (the dirk can be found here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/3614859/ ). The hilt is bound in leather with various small gems and filigreed gold thread woven in it and a blood red emerald set on the pommel, it also has a matching scabbard that leaves the whip blades exposed. Due to the inherent properties of the crystal, the blade can enhance Ainoko's powers fourfold.
His dirk has been handed down from father to son for untold seasons, its age is unknown. The crystal it was forged from no longer exists as a few surviving dragons (after it was forged), destroyed most of the Star Crystals save what was used for jewelry, decorations and few weapons, due to the crystal is the only material known to kill them (though by the time Ainoko inherits his dirk, less than 1% of the population remembers this). The blade is nigh indestructible and can only be destroyed by another Star Crystal blade.
Main blade: 30" (36" for the hilt) Transparent Star Crystal (the crystal has a purplish blue tint), blood channel running the entire length of the blade with black runes etched into the blade. The blade glows only during the night and then only faintly. It's glow can be best described as ghostly as looking directly at the blade at night you won't see the glow, but when looking at something else, you will see the glow from the corners of your eyes.
Whip Blades (x2): 9", semi-flexible, made from carbon fiber steel to give it it's flexibility.
Both the Star Crystal and Carbon Fiber Steel blades are bound together on the molecular level and wrapped with an 8" obsidian steel core.
Hilt:[/u] Wrapped in strips of dragon hide that is woven with filigreed gold thread and studded with assorted precious stones. The pommel is a Blood Red Emerald.
The red line on the whip blades is how the blades are supposed to look.
As stated, feel free to do a proper rendering of this wonderful looking weapon.
According to legends, Star Crystals are remnants from when the universe was created by the gods and daemons. The crystals store the sun's light for use later. Of all the weapons forged from the crystals before the dragons destroyed the unused stone, there is a Master Weapon, a broadsword called the Sun Stealer. It is said that only the foolish is able to wield such a powerful weapon, and only the foolish will be able to retrieve the Sun Stealer from where it is kept, in the heart of our very Sun.
