Character Description

A Meowscarada with a red-green mask, bright blue eyes and a magician's longcoat.
Otherwise, his color palette is that of a non-shiny normal meowscarada.
His leaf cape is very shiny on the inside, as is the coat adorned with starry patterns.
As is required of students, he wears an Aurum gear around his neck on Academy grounds.

Background/History

As the Academy of Augusta's top student, he enjoys unparalleled luxury and freedom so long as he produces results. This includes access to high-level library sections and his own dorm room, among other things.

He's tried a few other subjects to major in, but found that Ancient Civilations is where his heart's at - the subject, and moreso its teacher, Professor Rubrum, whom Maestro trusts with his life.

Prior to enrolling at the Academy, he was already an accomplished stage magician from a line of Pokémon proficient at performance acts. While his training there was initially just a way to earn both respect from his elders and funds for his lifestyle, he developed a genuine desire to make people happy with his skills, so he keeps performing every now and then, to great applause.

His biggest wish is to get to travel the world with Rubrum, far outside even the Intermediary Areas, and share the happiness he feels travelling and learning. He is qualified to travel Intermediaries on his own.

Relatives/Family

Nobody knows what Maestro's actual lineage is, as his egg was found and taken in by a family of performance artists who settled down in Augusta generations ago.
While his rigorous training earned him the respect of his parents, as well as his many brothers and sisters (including a Quaquaval, an Oricorio, and a Floette, among others), the only person he feels a true familial bond with is, once again, Rubrum, whom he has shared his closest thoughts and worries with.

World/Setting

Like Rubrum, Maestro hails from the far-away region of Illumina, where Pokemon and humanity live in separated societies, but in harmony - with occasional intermingling in Intermediary Areas between Zones (read: nations). These Intermediaries are home to ferals and other lowlifes, so while there is plenty of adventure, ancient ruins and remnants of older Zones there to be found, it's also inadvisable for the common folk to travel them unescorted.

Maestro, too, is from the zone called Augusta, a meritocracy in which the Great Academy of Augusta is in charge of governance and education. Its area of direct influence is so great that it in fact divided into the massive school grounds themselves, the Inner Circle, as well as much of the surrounding cities and villages, the Greater Circle. Most young Mons in Augusta attend the Academy, but plenty of more experienced folks also go in and out too, and all age groups are found among both teachers and students.

As a matter of identification, every student in either the Inner or Greater Circle must wear a necklace bearing the symbol of the Academy, the so-called Aurum Gear.

Body

As detailed above. Blue eyes, red-green mask, fur is mostly cream, but green beneath his mark, as well as his legs. His flowery collar is a lively shade of pink.

Clothing

Aside from the Aurum gear, Maestro's stage attire includes his favourite blue longcoat with glowing star patterns on the back, and a blue flower adorning the front.

Accessories

None - not even the flower bomb Meowscaradas typically use for their tricks. How DOES he do it?

Meet Maestro, the Academy's best and brightest!

Sometimes earnest, sometimes mischievous, but always ready to give his all, this Meowscarada majors in Ancient Civilations under Professor Rubrum's tutelage in Augusta's Great Academy, where he thrives and flourishes.

To his peers, he's an idol, with all the bravado of the stage magician he is by trade.
To his closest friends, he's an irreplacable companion.
To Rubrum, he's a soulmate.

For all his extroverted and outgoing mannerisms, he's very concerned with building up and maintaining a close relationship with whomever he can as he doesn't want to be put on a pedestal. His biggest worry is to be seen as unapproachable and left behind.

His costume is part of his stage attire, but outside of his performances he'd much rather run around with little or no clothing because it's more comfy. Whatever helps him show off though, given the opportunity!
