If spring arrives with the coming of the sakura, it reaches its height with the blooming of the of amethyst flower. Soon the renewal of spring will make way for the heated passions of summer, and the passions of summer lie at the Amethyst Review. The doors are finally open to invite all in, and hopefully a show featuring the Amethyst's Bacarra Rose (Jason) and the Sapphire's Azalea (Abigale) will get you in the mood.
If you've been following me for a while, you might know I've been getting a cherry blossom themed commission of Abigale every March for the last few years. After the first year, I decided to tie it into the Violet Sapphire as well. With the Amethyst Review officially becoming a thing this year, I decided I wanted to do something similar, though later on in the spring. I came across the beautiful, and appropriately name, amethyst flower (Browallia speciosa) that just so happens to bloom in May. Another tidbit is an alternative name for the flower is the sapphire flower. It seems like it was destined. While my timing is a bit off posting this year, this year, this is the inaugural piece in that series. I don't know yet if I'll keep it tied to a specific character like Abigale and sakura, but I've got until next year to decide on that.
