Angelina came across a corded wall telephone after five minutes of searching. She’d approach it and pick it up with her grassy hands, dialing in her mother’s phone number. The snivy always remembered the number in case she needed to ask about anything.
After twenty seconds of hearing the ring back tone, her mother answered the phone saying “Hello, this is Ranae speaking. How can I help you?”
“Hey mom, it’s good to hear from you again.” said Angelina.
“Hey sweetie, good to hear from you! How has the internship been going? You must tell me about it.” said Ranae. “It’s been a long while since you last called.”
“I’d love to… but I wish to talk about something important, it relates to a recent orphan infant I’ve been caring for for the last many days.” said the snivy.
“I understand, please tell me everything from start to finish,” her mother said in a gentle tone.
“Okay mother,” said Angelina.
The grass snake talked about how she and Marsha discovered the pokemon egg near the front entrance of the orphanage, and that a shiny riolu hatched from it after a good bit of time. Which she named Nicholas. She then explained how she’s been doing her best to care for the pup, since the snivy thought of him as a little brother.
She continued on with what happened today, detailing how harsh the infant had been treated by Lady Drevelle as of recently and that she was tired of it. For the final part, she talked about the trip into the city that she and Marsha did together, and that the young pup enjoyed it.
“Oh my… sounds like you’ve had quite the internship so far! I am proud of your dedication to taking care of the pup!” Ranae said happily as she sniffled a bit. She was moved to tears by her own daughter’s dedication. “You remind me of myself when I worked as a Nurse many years ago. Always working hard to keep my patients in good health. Your father would be very proud of you!”
“Thank you mother!” said Angelina as she smiled. “The thing is… I don’t want Nicky spending the rest of his life in the orphanage, he deserves a family that will care for him. Unlike his former mother. He’s a wonderful and energetic infant! So I’d like to ask the important question: Can we please adopt him!? I’d like to give him that chance of being in a loving family! I’ll do my best to care for him! I want to be his big sister!”
This question really surprised her mother, she wasn’t expecting her daughter to ask for a little brother since she didn’t mind being a single child for most of her life. Ranae stayed quiet as she took a deep breath in and slowly exhaled, thinking about her response. The snivy waited in suspense, wondering how her mother would respond to this request. After five minutes of waiting on the phone, she’d get an answer.
“Me and your father will need to have a discussion about it, but for now… please take care of yourself and that little riolu. We’ll give you a call or send a letter once we come to a decision.” said Ranae.
“I understand mother, thank you for letting me speak to you about it.” said grass snake.
“You’re welcome, Angie. You’re my precious daughter after all, and a mother must always do her best to provide for her children.” her mother replied.
“See you around mother!” said Angelina as her mother ended the call shortly after. She put the phone back and went over to the Staff Bedroom to rest for the time being. That is until she is assigned another task by the owner or someone else. This was her moment of freetime.
The snivy wanted to stop the owner’s attitude towards Nicky and the other children, but felt powerless since any action against Lady Drevelle could have her removed from the internship. She couldn’t imagine the sadness that the pup would feel if that were to happen. Even some of the other children would be saddened by it.
For now, all she could do is hope that both of her parents agree on adopting the young pup. A slim chance that if all went well… the infant would have a loving family that’d give him plenty of care and affection. This included a proper childhood to live as well.

Nick was spending time outside with Marsha and Angelina after having a delicious breakfast of Fancy Food Puree, which he finished up quickly since he loved it so much. The pup’s current outfit remained the same for the moment since he wasn’t required to wear anything else.
“I’ll say… that gathering of children I heard about yesterday was quite the event. It even scared the owner as well!” said Groundskeeper Jenkins as he watered the roses with his squirtle-themed watering can. He was using a mix of liquid fertilizer and water to help the flowers grow.
“It certainly was, I’ve never seen that amount of children gather together in one place. They must’ve been really concerned for Nicky.” said Angelina.
“Those children were quite brave and defensive, even if they were afraid. I’d say it was a dope moment!” exclaimed Marsha. Both girls chuckled in response as they kept an eye on the infant they were watching over. Nick was about to stick his paw out to touch the water that was being poured, but was stopped by the groundskeeper who gently pushed his paw back.
“Uh-uh-uh! This water is not for drinking or touching, it’s for helping the plants grow so they can become vibrant and beautiful.” said Jenkins as he let out a chuckle. The pup cooed and babbled as he watched the man tend to the flowers, sitting on his padded bottom as he swished his tail back and forth.
Before the pup thought of his next action, he heard the loud sound of a clunky car engine in the distance as he turned his head to face the source of the noise. The other three wondered what was making that sound. Approaching the front of the orphanage was a yellow and purple microbus decorated with peace-symbols and pretty flowers. The two machoke security guards watched with alertness as the vehicle parked in front of the building, with the back of it facing the main entrance.
Three blonde haired teenage boys exited through the back, wearing shorts and shirts with a tye-dye pattern. They also wore crowns made of white daisies and small branches, even the acoustic guitars they held onto had a tye-dye theme to them. Only difference was that the strings were yellow.
“Wait… are these guys… hippies?” asked Angelina.
“Correct, they are people who don’t like world conflict and believe that everyone should be able to get along with each other.” said the machoke.
“Hey security dude… mind if we chillax here for a moment while Denzel fixes the engine to our beloved Daisy? She’s been having engine problems, and it’s harshing the vibes.” the first teen asked.
“Please get off the property right now, this entire area is a safe space for children!” the machoke said.
“It won’t take long… just mellow out man. All we need is thirty minutes…” said the second teen. “Just take a deep breath and let the groove of peace enter your body.”
Lady Drevelle stepped out to check on things, and was surprised by the appearance of these strangers with their microbus on her property. She made her way down the steps, past the flower garden, and over to the small group of hippies.
“Welcome to Blisswood Orphanage… are you here to adopt a child or are you just stopping on a road trip?” the gothitelle asked.
“Hey dudette, we just need to chill here for thirty-minutes so Denzel can repair the engine to our microbus. It shouldn’t take any longer than that. We’ll be gone right afterwards.” said the second teen as he looked towards the third teen in the group. She pondered for a moment, and then gave them a silent nod of approval.
“Alright, thirty minutes is all you will get. Use this time wisely…” said Lady Drevelle sternly.
“Thanks a million, dudette! You may watch Denzel while he goes to fix the engine.” said the first teenager. “By the way, we should properly introduce ourselves: I’m Dave, this is Derrick, next to him is Denzel! We are…. Green Serenity!”
Denzel grabbed a bulbasaur-themed toolbox from the back of the bus, firmly holding the handle as he went to check the engine with Lady Drevelle following behind him. While the engine was being worked on, Dave and Derrick sat on the back bumper, tuning their guitars.
“Green Serenity… I think I’ve heard about them. They’re a peace-loving boy band who create songs that focus on world peace and togetherness" Marsha said to the grass snake.
“Right on dudette! While we aren’t the most popular, we have a small number of fans that really enjoy our gentle and peaceful songs.” said Dave.
The shiny pup crawled over to them as his tail wagged a bit, curious about the instruments that the teens were holding in their hands. He cooed and babbled at Dave as he tried to touch the surface of the guitar, wanting to know how it felt. He stopped tuning his guitar and looked down at the pup saying “Hey little dude, curious about my groovy guitar? Want to hear a song from it?”
Nick babbled and cooed happily as he nodded his head, watching as the teen gently picked him up and placed him on his lap. Both interns watched as the pup wagged his tail with excitement. From there, Dave began strumming his guitar with Derrick joining along. The pup gently ran his paw across the surface of the guitar, which felt very smooth since it was polished. While no exact song was being played, the sound of the instrument was calming to the infant.
“Looks like the little guy enjoys the music.” said Derrick as he gently tickled the pup’s chin as he giggled. “What’s your name, little dude?”
“That’s Nicholas, but you can call him Nicky. He’s an infant who hatched from his egg many days ago.” said the grass snake. “He can’t quite speak yet.”
“Welcome to the world, little dude! There’s so much for you to see!” said Derrick as he gently rubbed the pup’s head while he listened to the music. It was a rather sweet tune that had a pleasant melody to it, even if it was lyricless. It had just the right tempo. Nick laid his head on Dave’s lap as he relaxed. He was at peace. Angelina and Marsha were enjoying the music as well.
“So peaceful, like laying in a patch of grass on a sunny day while watching the clouds go by, I could fall asleep to this.” said the pikachu.
The owner of the orphanage listened to the music and believed it lacked any beauty compared to classical orchestral music. She’d quietly scoff a little as she kept her eyes on Denzel. She was waiting for these strangers to leave, not wanting them to stick around for any longer than the time she assigned to them.
Nick purred as he listened to the music, content with himself as he waved his shiny yellow tail back and forth in a gentle back and forth motion. The second teen decided to pet the pup’s tail, which he didn’t seem to mind as he purred louder during it. It was certainly a fluffy tail!
“Our band is well-known in Nacrene City and Undella Town, they enjoy our songs because they give off peaceful vibes.” said the first teen as he tuned his guitar for a moment, and then returned to playing it. The infant cooed and babbled as Derrick rubbed the pup’s back.
“That sounds nice, after all… everyone has their own music preferences that they enjoy,” said the groundskeeper. “Some people may like Jazz, while others prefer Hip-Hop or Grunge.”
“Nickster is really enjoying the music, I am glad he’s having a good time.” said Angelina.
Derrick stopped playing his guitar and went into the back of the microbus to grab a few things, both interns were curious about what that teen was doing. After a few minutes, the teen exited the vehicle holding a baby-sized yellow tye-dye shirt and a black CD case that contained an album of music. He’d approach the two interns and hold out the items.
“Since you enjoy our music so much, take these gifts as a token of our appreciation: A copy of our album known as Flowery Love, and a free shirt,” said Derrick.
“Wow, that’s dope!” said Angelina as she gently took the items. “Thank you so much! This tye-dye shirt will look hip on Nicky!”
“I know, it’s so cute!” exclaimed Marsha.
“No problemo dudettes! We have a lot of shirts and CD albums that we like to give away to our adoring fans, and you were vibing a lot to our music, along with your little buddy. A few souvenirs to remember us by!” said the second teen.
As the two hippies played their guitars, the security guards talked between each other about the hippies. Keeping a close eye on them in case anything went wrong, which would give them a reason to act. So far… it was all peace and rainbows at this point.
“Those hippies are just a bunch of tree huggers.” said the first machoke.
“Well… that’s how they are. We can’t really change who they are on the inside. All we can do is sit back and let time decide the rest.” answered the second machoke casually.
“You actually like them?” the first machoke asked.
“Yeah, I do. They have nice music and they aren’t just a bunch of rebellious teenagers who deface public property with spray paint.” said the second one.
“That is a true point, I’ll give them a plus for making the youngster happy. See how relaxed he is? That is pure serenity right there.” said the first one as adjusted his officer’s cap.
Thirty minutes later…
Denzel was able to get the engine fixed up without running into any issues, it was now purring like a Litten being combed with a gentle brush. They are now able to drive to their next destination, until another problem comes up again. Which wouldn’t be for a while. Everything was peachy. Nick had fallen asleep on Dave’s lap since he was very relaxed from the gentle music.
“Awww… what a cute little dude!” Derrick said quietly.
“No doubt about it, he’s grooving in his own far out dreamland.” said Dave as he handed the pup back to Angelina, who gently grabbed him with her vines.
Denzel hopped into the driver seat after putting the tool box in the back of the microbus, buckling himself in afterwards. It was time to head out soon for this peace-loving boy band! Derrick opened up the back doors of the microbus and hopped into it. Music from their album was playing on their music player.
“Well dude and dudettes, it was an honor being with you all. Thank you for allowing us to stay and fix our beloved microbus! We’d love to stick around, but we gotta get grooving!” said Dave as he winked at the two interns. “We have a Flower Festival to play in Nacrene City. Peace out, and stay groovy!” The last teenager of the group got into the vehicle and secured the doors.
They watched as the boy band drove away in their microbus, with the sound of their music getting quieter as they got farther away. This was certainly an interesting and friendly encounter for the two interns, especially for Nick who got to learn about how their music was like. The little infant was fast asleep in Angelina’s arms.
“It’s someone’s nap time, come on little brother.” said Angelina as she carried the young pup back inside the building and brought him back to the Nursery with Marsha following behind her.
Groundskeeper Jenkins waved to them as they left the area. Lady Drevelle went back to her office on the second floor. She had some financial papers to organize. The two machoke security guards went on a lunch break since nothing else was happening.
Before the pup was placed in his crib, the snivy decided to change his light-blue shirt to the yellow tie-dye one. Once done, she put him down for a nap. Making sure to turn off the light on her way out of the room.
