The boltcutter bears an uncanny resemblance to the branchloppers I used in my upstate home, before we sold the place in late 2003. Trees always growing there...
I also used boltcutters to remove padlocks and combo locks on lab lockers at work from 1969 to 1991 if (1) The lock went funny, and refused to respond to the combination. (2) The student could not remember his/her combination. (3) The student didn't remove the lock at the end of the term and the locker could not be gotten into, for restocking.
