Rem was fascinated by the countless amount of "anime" on TV and the net, after Angie introduced her to the concept. There were stories about robot children, school girls transforming into fashionable heroes, even more fashionable ninja team, love stories, and plenty of giant robot fighting.
There was, however, one show and comic/manga she was immersed to. It was about a dragon who becomes close friends with an average office worker, and she became a maid as a token of gratitude. How they met almost resembled how Rem and Angie met, so she watched all of the episodes and continued the story in the illustrated pages.
Angie decided to take her to a place where people can talk about these subjects, buy some official (and unofficial) merchandise, and even dress up as characters. Angie had a friend who was eager to loan Rem a costume while she had some business clothes to dress up.
It was like another dream world to Rem, with all sorts of interesting people (and a few creepy ones).
She also learned that there is always another person who dresses the same, and it's no problem.
