Maika is a tech whiz, night owl. Born as a "Designer Child" or "Synth", Maika's parents selected which genes they wanted to pass on, as well as those from others, to craft her appearance before conception. She is part caracal cat (father) and part mouse lemur (mother). The practice is popular with those who can afford it. For those who can't, financing is available. Her eyewear is, of course, smart goggles.
