GeneX - Shatterverse
Chapter 6 - The High School Heist

The school dance was rapidly approaching, and Copter still hadn't figured out how best to ask Gemini to send him home. What was he to say? That she's his girlfriend in another dimension? Most worlds still weren't aware of the multiverse. At the very least, he was able to speak to his world's Gemini through the ProwerPhone. He told her everything that was going on while he wandered the halls between classes. "Well, are you learning anything useful?" she asked him with a giggle. "Yeah, I'm learning that you can be a bit stuck-up." he told her with a sigh. Gemini stuck her tongue out at him over the phone. "C'mon, ask me to the dance, I dare you!" she teased. Copter blushed a bit. "I wish I could ask YOU, and not some other you." he told her. "Aww." Gemini cooed, "We'll dance when you get home. Tails and Chuck and everyone are doing their best to find this Shatterverse you're in." she told him. "Maybe you can give me some suggestions for how to ask you to the dance..." Copter said awkwardly. Getting on her good side in this world would certainly be helpful, no matter what. "Well..." Before Gemini could respond, the phone was snatched out of Copter's hand! "You should be getting to class. These devices aren't allowed on school grounds in the first place!" said Principal Gunner, "You can have this back at the end of the week." he said sternly. Copter stammered in disbelief as Gunner walked away with his ProwerPhone. "Is...is that legal?? Rrrghh, why can't Gunner EVER stop ruining my life!" Copter groaned. "Don't take it so personally, he ruins everyone's lives..." said Garen as he found the fox, "Were you talking to...a girl?" he smirked. "Shut up..." the annoyed Copter sighed. He needed that phone back, and he needed it quickly.

Later, Copter was in the halls, creeping over to the principal's office to scope out the situation. He was carefully peering into the door when a voice startled him. "What are you doing?" Copter jumped and turned to see Gemini standing there. This could be his chance! He cleared his throat and tried to look cool, but he just looked a bit awkward. "Oh, uh, just had a question for the old man... He isn't here. But since you're here, ahhh... Would you wanna go to the dance with me?" he asked with a nervous grin. Gemini glanced away from him. "Look, I'm sure you're a good guy... But I'm not planning to go to the dance. Sorry, I gotta get going..." she said, walking away. Copter watched her leave, feeling a sting in his heart. It reminded him of how his Gemini declined his marriage proposal in his world. "Hmm, you're acting different..." Copter jumped again as he noticed Gemini's sister, Libra, who was apparently watching them. "No, I'm not. I'm just good 'ol Arthur the good 'ol student..." Copter said unconvincingly. Libra shook her head. "No, you're Copter. Arthur wouldn't be caught dead at the dance." she stated, rushing to him and grabbing his hands excitedly. "It's me, your Libra! From you know... Troblusk City." she said with a wink. This was Libra from his world. He'd found her, or rather, she'd found him! "Ohh, good! I thought I was alone in this nightmare!" Copter sighed, "And I could use your help. Fricking Gunner took my ProwerPhone." he said. "Heeey, askin' out the other sister? Oh, sorry, did you give him an answer?" said Garen as he walked over. Copter growled. "Would people stop sneaking up on me!? You know what, Guard? You're in. We're gonna heist my phone after class." he said. Garen stammered a bit. "Heist? ...Guard? Ah, well, I guess I can be your guard or lookout, just so long as I can stay outta trouble... Dad's already got me on probation for that party last month..." he murmured. "Yeah, don't care. You in, Libby?" Copter asked. "As long as you never call me Libby again." Libra replied. The squad was set, and soon it'd be time for a heist!

That evening, once most of the students had gone home, Copter's "plan" was set in motion. Garen and Libra were both watching the entrance to Gunner's office from either side of the hallway. Once the old man stepped out, Garen flew up above, passing the principal as he walked by. Once he rounded the corner, Garen fiddled with a vent grate above the office. Copter tumbled part of the way to the ground before he spun his tails to slow his fall. Libra facepalmed at his klutziness. "Let's not give Gunner a reason to come back..." she whispered. Copter tried to open the office door, only to find it locked. "Oh, come on... Any ideas?" Copter asked. Libra walked over, handing Copter a wand. "I nicked this from Gemini. This world's Gemini..." she stated. "Right... Abra-ka-unlockra..." he said, waving the wand to open the door. He slipped in quickly, locating his ProwerPhone while Libra and Garen kept watch. While he was in there, Sage appeared before Libra. "You are also from his world. You should just remain here. You will live safely and happily in this world." she stated. "And live someone else's life? Not to mention abandon my real sister?!" Libra growled. "Your what now?" Garen stammered. The door opened, swinging between Sage and Libra. "Got my phone. And since you gave me Gem's wand, I guess I'll call her up and get the spell to return home from her!" Copter announced. Sage floated around the door and grabbed the wand from him before he could realize she was there! "I cannot allow you to throw off our plans!" she stated, tossing a Warp Ring nearby, which allowed Eggman's robots to slip into the hallway! Garen backed away in surprise. "A-alien killer robots! Let's BOOK IT!!" he shouted, running off in a panic! "Wait, Garen! Oh, forget it. Give back that wand, Sage!" Copter yelled. "I am going to return it to its proper place. Farewell..." Sage stated, floating away. Libra gulped. "She's going after Gemini?? C'mon, let's wreck these bots and stop her!" she cried.

Gemini was in the Gymnasium, helping the likes of Amy, Blaze and Heather to set up the upcoming dance. She was blowing up balloons for the decorations. "Ahh... This might be easier with magic... I wish I knew where my wand got to..." she sighed. "Oh, it's not that hard. You shouldn't rely on magic so much." Amy told her. Garen suddenly came rushing into the GYM, panic in his eyes. "Robots! A-aliens!! ...WEAPONS IN SCHOOL!!" he yelled out. Blaze looked at him with a bemused expression. "Aliens? You expect us to believe that?" she grumbled. However, the door suddenly exploded, and Egg Pawns rushed into the GYM ahead of Sage! "Do not be alarmed... I am only here for her..." Sage stated, pointing at Gemini, "I need to remove you from this world..." Splitting her up from Copter seemed the best way to prevent his escape from this dimension. Garen was shaking, but he stood between the robots and the girls. "I w-won't let you h-harm them!" he stammered. "Garen, don't be a hero..." Heather whispered. Sage sighed. "You cannot win against us." she warned. "'Course we can!" shouted Copter from behind the AI, flying up to her quickly and knocking the wand out of her hand! Sage was rattled; She hadn't been attacked before, as a matter of fact. "C-curse you... I won't be caught off guard again!" she said before vanishing from the GYM. Robots were still approaching Garen and the girls, though, and seeing them close in on Gemini, Copter moved quickly, flying across the GYM as fast as he could! He landed in front of her just in time to get grabbed by the metal hands instead of Gemini. "Trying to hurt her was your last mistake!" he growled, "Chaos Blast! ... ... Huh?" The attack didn't work, and the robots slammed him against the ground! "You have to fight by the rules of this world!" Libra shouted, "Catch!" she cried, throwing Gemini's wand! It was caught by its owner, and Gemini quickly cast a spell. "Chillazim!" she cried, freezing each robot in place with icy magic! With the robots frozen, Garen pushed one over and stuck out his tongue, while Amy smashed it with her hammer. "...Don't tell the teachers I have this..." she chuckled awkwardly. Gemini helped Copter up, brushing the ice off him. "That was so insane! What were you thinking?" she asked him. "That I can't bear to see you hurt..." he replied, which caused her to blush. She punched his arm. "Don't do that again... And don't be late to the dance." she winked. It was Copter's turn to blush. "Y-you mean...?" Gemini nodded, but his excitement was short-lived as Gunner stepped into the GYM. "What in the name of...YOU?!" he snapped, stomping over to Copter and pointing at the phone in his hand. "You broke into my office, did you also cause all this mess?!" he shouted. "It wasn't like that, Mr. Gunner..." Garen stammered. "Shush! I'll sort all this out, but YOU, I'd better not see at the dance!" he said, pointing at Copter, "The rest of you...no, all of you, get your tails home! This mess... I'm going to call the authorities about this... What are these things?" he grumbled, looking around at the frozen robots. Copter gave a defeated sigh. He'd gotten Gemini to go to the dance with him, only to get banned from the dance. What would he do now?

Egg Memo X1

I've lost my old memos in Cyberspace, so let's start over. New plan, new memos. To recap, my journey to the Starfall Islands was mostly a bust. The Chaos Emeralds slipped through my fingers once again, but to recap what I've learned... Our Chaos Emeralds were originally from another world, brought here by the Ancients as they fled from a planet-destroying entity. Sonic and Sage took care of that entity. My brilliant AI, Sage... She made it appear that she had sacrificed herself, but her data survives in the EggNet. Together, we now look to the stars... If the Chaos Emeralds came from outside our world, just imagine what other incredible power sources might await! I'll claim those powers, and the universe will be mine!

GeneX - Shatterverse 5
GeneX - Shatterverse 7
Ah, yes, phone getting confiscated. Relateable, huh? ...I wouldn't know, I basically never use my phone ^^;

Also, when/how did Copter get one of the ProwerPhones invented by future Miles? And why didn't he use it until now? Well, as for the latter, he just plain forgot about it until recently. As for the former... I actually need to do some fact-checking of my own, but I think he's had it since last year. Don't recall if I addressed why. I've been a bit too busy to maintain proper continuity >.>
