Character Sheet for Dr. Merick Kalibran
Character Description
A scientist working on a highly classified project for MTC. He is slowly being eaten away by an unidentified degenerative disease. Harbors a poorly hidden distaste for Robert Mammoth and the entire Mammoth family.
Personality
Despite being a dead-man-walking, Merick is of extremely high spirits and self esteem. He is an extremely intellectual and pleasant conversationalist, though his affliction keeps him from being particularly active.
Background/History
Merick Kalibran was an extremely intelligent and gifted scientist in charge of Project D-31-K-4N. The project was to involve the combination of three different sub-projects.
1. The development of "Flash Burning", a method of implanting memories and knowledge into people or animals.
2. The development of spinal implants that would serve to enhance the well being and physical capabilities of the implanted.
3. The creation of a living person who would act as a testbed for those technologies, as well as an enforcer of Mammoth-Tec interests. A long lived guardian and soldier for Robert Mammoth's family.
Shortly after beginning oversight and development of project D-31-K-4N, Merick was diagnosed with an unidentified degenerative disorder. The disease could turn for the worse at any time.
Merick saw an opportunity to cure himself, using the tools provided. However, a growing disdain for the Mammoth family hatched a deeper scheme in his mind. He could derail a project guaranteed to protect and expand Mammoth's power, prove how clever he was, and raise a child all at once, with the price of success being just his own well being.
He continued his work, perfecting flash burning and his selected array of implants in record time, but leaked details of the creation of a person to Steven Broussard. When the flash burning process was partially complete (and partially altered by himself), he arranged for an accident to compromise the hidden lab, and allow Stevo to retrieve the subject.
Robert Mammoth rushed to cover up the D-31-K-4N project, but was not fast enough to retrieve the subject, who had been adopted by Stevo. Meanwhile, Dr. Kalibran had vanished entirely.
