I'm not totally happy with how this turned out, I think the paws and some of the proportions (particularly around the head) didn't really work out well. I need need need to get more into the habit of using reference images when I draw! :3
There's a lesson to take from this though: the things I'm not happy about with this picture aren't really details, they're basic structure and skeletal features that I wouldn't be able to fix without erasing a lot of the image and starting over. And sometimes when a piece gets into that place where I'm "passed" the point where I would have needed to correct the errors, it's better to just live with the mistakes and finish the picture as best I can. Trying to retroactively fix those problems with band-aides can make a picture look worse.
If I get into a place where I can see that a picture isn't going to come out quite the way I want, I can either finish up the picture, maybe spend a little bit less time on shadows and line work and release it as is, or I can keep pushing myself into an unhealthy loop of thinking I'll fix everything. And if I do that, then what's really going to happen is that I'll never finish the picture because I won't want to work on it, because I'll be annoyed that it's still not coming out the way I want it! >w<
Sometimes its better to just finish up the best you can, release it, and then move on to the next picture with some lessons learned. It's OK, the next time I draw a fox in this style I'll do a better job with the head shape and eyes. So it's fine UwU
