So during my vacation, I fed my diecast addiction a lot... like really a lot. I think I spent about $670 and bought about 10 redlines. What a rush!
One of my finds was a 1991 McDonald's Hot Wheels Split Window '63 - which I only found out was a Macca's car yesterday. I feel bad for this generation with the plastic crap you get out of kids' meals today. Got it for a buck.
The Crown Vic is a 2007 Matchbox release from the Police 5-pack. I got that one and 100 or so others from my cousin - who I had only ever met the week before - so major props to her. They weren't in the best condition and were quite dirty but I was super-hyped to get them, there was even a $uper Hunt in there. Our grandmother just passed away last week so it's been a little rough, particularly on her since she was close with grandma.
This piece is unmistakably a re-hash of https://inkbunny.net/s/2874055 but hey, at least I didn't charge you for it. The choice of car and music is actually from a memory I had of playing PGR 2 years ago - I put on a 70s funk/R&B CD while driving around in 60s/70s muscle cars. I didn't even know how appropriate it was at the time as Earth, Wind and Fire are from Chicago.
Part of me regrets not fishing (no pun intended) out a '55 Stingray concept Hot Wheels as the Wave Rippers from Hot Wheels World Race heavily inspired Jen's car in the first place. The wide hot-rod tires look surprisingly good here - maybe I played too much Rush the Rock as a kid.
