Those are up to ten years old pieces from when I was trying to draw >w<' I was and still am terrible at it, but it's a bit of my history, so thought why not share it here as batch-submissions just separated by theme? ^_^
This batch is for SFW aquaphilia (breathholding, peril) works. Dragons, dolphins and pokemon were always my fave.
Please don't judge too hard on the ministories. I was still a cringy teen and learning English back then >w<'
After their last airless time before, Angeal soon recovered and convinced Drarra to another dive just for fun. What they did not know though was that an enemy of the dragoness was just waiting for an occasion to harm the two.
Drarra was just about to come up for air - since he could not hold on half as long as she usually could - when they suddenly heard the pool cover closing automatically. Panicking they both quickly rushed upwards from the bottom of the pool but it was too late.
A burst of bubbles escaped the male's maw in shock when he realized that they were trapped. Drarra covered his snout quickly, trying not to loose more of the little air he had. "Angeal! W..we are not coming out!" Speaking that in her mind, the dragon clawed at the cover but it was only flexible and could not be ripped. "...and I need air.." he added when he stopped and saw her swimming up to him.
She tried to push against the cover as well but although it bulged, there was no bubble of air visible except the ones which had left their snouts. Her voice a bit shakily she responded and placed a paw on his chest "Hold on! Terrie will get us out soon... she is meant to come soon... I hope.". "You hope?" the dragon exclaimed and shook his head.
The dragoness soon could feel his chest heaving - obviously her friend really couldn't take it much longer. Thoughtfully looking in his eyes she also noticed the slightly purple color his face had got. "D..dra!.. you need my air.." before the male dragon could even do anything she had already deeply pressed her lips on his and filled his cheeks with her life saving air. Instinctively he inhaled, feeling a warmth spreading through his body but then he broke the kiss, causing some bubbles to rise from their lips. "You.. didn't have to do this!", he exclaimed when he placed a paw on her chest. "You need it too..." She smiled gently in response and shook her head. "now we are equal..". Indeed the more or less fresh air had calmed his burning and enabled him to relax again, but that didn’t last for long.
Floating in the water just below the cover both the air breathing creatures were trying to spot Terrie or anyone else through the slightly transparent fabric. There was nobody visible yet though.
It didn't take long until both started to struggle again. They looked in each others eyes and hugged carefully, trying to ignore their heaving chests. "I hope she comes soon... I.. d..don’t have.. any more air…" Drarra said before he covered his snout with both paws and looked at the dragoness who was struggling just as he was... A few seconds later they both burst out a couple of bubbles and grabbed their necks, doing whatever they could to keep on the little, stale air they had left.
Panicking, the dragoness dashed against the cover, trying to inhale the little bubbles which were trapped under it. Drarra followed her example but everything they got was a mouthful of water, causing them to choke and loose the last bit of air they had.
Suddenly the males eyes went wide though when his glance fell on a shadow right at the pools border. In the same moment they both heard a female voice: “Hold on, I’m getting you two out!”

Mini-Story #2: "10min challenge: Focus on the Crystal"
Drarra has convinced his dear pokemon, Varra to a different type of challenging training now.
Of course they wouldn't start without him teaching her the one or other trick to improve her times. One of the tricks the dragon has teached his vaporeon was that distraction is the best way to forget about the need for oxygen, enabling her to stay longer on a single breath of air.
So he showed her a very special place deep down in the tunnel system below their home cave: A single, beautifully glowing crystal just in the middle of the submerged, rather dark chamber which is only illuminated by tiny, starlike crystals at the ceiling.
The vaporeon girl sat on her butt just infront of it, focusing on nothing but on the glistening crystal, just like her trainer told her.
The time passes by. At first slowly - the vappy almost counts the seconds in her mind - but then she forgets about the time, having only one thing to focus on. Seconds pass, then minute after minute... But even when her body shows the first signs of strain she does nothing but holding still. Her trainer is proud of her and gently wraps a wing around her back for warmth and support, smiling softly.
Eventually she idly brings a paw to her snout, pressing against as she knows her heaving chest is trying to make her exhale. Nevertheless, she holds on, closing her eyes in strain while loosing a couple of bubbles. Her cheeks turn slightly purple-red as she continues - her chest heaving every few seconds, almost convulsing. "C..can't h..hold back..." *she speaks telepathically, leaking anotehr few bubbles.*
Yet the dragon only embraces her closer, knowing that he has got a fresh breath, ready to share with her as soon as she'd be in any danger. "You are at 9 minutes!" He whispers in her mind.
Varra nods and also trusts her trainer, not caring about her desperately convulsing chest and the burning inside for now. Still her concentration weakens step by step and she knows she needs air but yet she refuses.
Small bubbles continue to seep past her paws and from her bulging cheeks but she doesn't panic, keeping the eye on the glistening light of the crystal.
Drarra smiles softly, staying quiet. Although he knows soon that the ten minutes are already over for a while, he only continues to watch her, approaching his snout. "N..not yet.. not yet...", she speaks in her masters mind, trying to convince herself too, only loosing more bubbles.
"Good vaporeon!.." He responds, smiling of pride and gently rubs her shoulder, wondering how long she will resist her craving chest.

Mini-Story #3: "Diving"
"A secret, sunken temple at the lakes bottom? I must explore it!", the young vaporeon girl said excitedly when she heard about it. Quickly she shrugged off all warnings that no air breather ever made it through the labyrinth of caves surrounding the temple and survived, and went on the way.
Now she is deep under the surface, fighting her way through the more and more narrowing passages. Eight minutes? Ten? Varra was not sure how much time had passed since she left the surface. She only knew she was far past her point of no return, sure she wouldn't make it the same way back. A small burst of bubbles seeped past her lips suddenly when she thought about the surface.
The first couple of minutes her chest had only occasionally tightened slightly, mainly due to the quickly increasing the pressure on her body. She easily rubbed her chest with a paw and ignored the feeling, only swimming faster.
By now she couldn't ignore her body's urge anymore. With a slowly increasing rythm, her chest was heaving as her body tried to make her inhale. With every passing moment, with every stroke of her paws through the water, it became harder and harder to supress.
It was pitch black down in the caverns, luckily her natural excitement was causing the crystal-like markings on her head to glow, providing her just enough light not to hit the rocks.
Once more she pressed her little paw against her chest, trying to calm her clearly burning lungs. "I will make it!", she said loudly to herself, gathering new willpower and soon she was only speeding up through the water once more.
Varra was a proud young vaporeon and giving up was the last thing she would ever do, but she knew she would eventually loose all her air and inhale the crystal clear water. "Nghh, I may not think about it!..", she exclaimed once more when an unusually strong spasm of her chest took her concentration and allowed another couple of bubbles to seep from her puffed cheeks past her lips before she could clamp them together again in struggle with a paw. She followed the bubbles with her eyes for a moment while they seeped along the skewed tunnels ceiling and out of her sight.
Quickly she inhaled the little air from her cheeks again, able to feel how empty her chest had become by now. Her cheeks showed a clear tone of purple and there was pain in her face, but yet nothing was changing on her powerful determination and willpower.
Will she find air down there? Or even more interesting things? Who knows who knows~

Mini-Story #4: "The Arc Challenge"
Her whole life, this young birdie lived by a large, deep lake. Unlike others of her kind, she early found it fun to swim and dive and just to spend as much water under the surface as possible. Soon she became good at it, able to stay down for minutes on a single breath of air and she discovered many beautiful places across the bottom.
Still there was one certain place - a certain challenge - she had always dreamed to reach and fulfill, yet she had never dared to and always gave up only feet away. It was a natural arc of stone just in the very deepest place of the lake, about 100 feet below the glistening surface.
Today it looks like the birdie has finally overcame her fears. With a massive breath sweeling in her chest and with closed eyes she plunged herself under the surface, diving almost straight down with forceful kicks and strokes. The waterpresssure increases rapidly, hurting in her ears and forcing her to equalize, yet she doesn't give up. Her sharp eyes eventually spot the markant arc of stone and she only doubles her efforts, flying through the water as if it were her natural environment.
"M..mwrblbl!" The sound of bubbles echoes through the water as a first puff of air escape her beak, causing her to clench her eyes and suppress the urge to exhale more. --I will make it!...--, she tells herself as she focuses on the dark, kelp-overgrown floor and the large rocks she approaches more and more. Her feathered chest begins to throb and burn on the inside, telling her that it is time to return to the much needed air. Yet she refuses to obey to her instincts and continues to push herself through the water.
--s..so close..--, rushes through her mind as she is only seven or eight feet away. Her chest spasms forcefully, causing her body to arch instinctively while bubbles rise from her nostrils towards the surface. She knows her cheeks must be faintly blue by now but the brave birdie just uses her movement to push herself even further and deeper. Small fish swim by and she can see crabs and other animals crawling along the floor, just doing their buisness and not caring about this foreign creature who struggles hard just to exist down here.
Eventually she could touch the smooth rock but instead kicks her legs another, forceful time, pulling her body through this portal-shaped formation. Her whole body trembles now and she can feel how her chest spasms forcefully, screaming for air. Instinctively she clamps her beak as her blueish cheeks bulge hard, yet her mind can only think a single thing: --I made it! I made it!..--
"B..brblub.. glublbl.." Her exhausted body sadly leaves her no time to savor the joyful moment. Despite her clamped beak, burst after burst of bubbles escape her lungs as her chest heaves rythmically now. Determined she clenches her eyes again and forcefully begins to kick for the surface. --Air...-- Her mind begin to feel dizzy and her strokes slow down, yet she doesn't give up. She knows she has to make it to the the life-giving surface - and she will!
