I never really had this problem. Like with Elder Scrolls Online, I could fight and beat 1 or 2 enemy's that were 50+ levels ahead of me. And in that game a 2 to 3 level difference would normally spell disaster. ^w^

Can you imagine running into a level 30 kobold at level 5 in DnD?

Nevermind running away, we'd be lucky to get a turn in at all.

That's still in the bounds of good sheparding. If they send some illithids after you, that's when you know you've done something wrong.

...not that I've ever done anything to warrant that, of course.
