Okay, so it's a local go-kart track instead of Goodwood, but Abbey Lane (car #25) is able to prove she has the skills and bravery to compete with the best drivers...even as she shows off in front of her chauvinistic little brother David (car #11) . Maybe I should've let you witness what went on before it was their turn at the karts: DAVID (somewhat sternly) : I don't care if you are my sister and Daddy likes to race cars...It's a well-known fact that GIRLS CAN'T RACE! ABBEY (with a smirk) : Well, you just wait until we're on the track...I'll make sure you eat those words! And make him eat those words she does! Despite her starting in the middle of the grid, she makes short work of passing the other karts and taking the lead. She even even laps some of the karts, including David's, without even a scrape or bump. The impressed crowd showers her with cheers and applause as she pulls into the starting area. Even the owner of the track is so impressed, he strongly suggests she start competing in the races at Goodwood. But her father reminds the owner that Abbey will have to wait a few years before that ever happens (she's 15) ...unless of course they hold midget kart races there.
