I forget where I got direct ideas for the environmental changes, but I'd like to take the time to further praise manga artist Nobuyuki Fukumoto, best known for Kaiji (Now English dubbed, apparently!?) and Akagi! :D waves and bows to others reading this comment right now. His visual metaphors always were really interesting.

And the words the narrator says in Akagi. I prefer the original dubs. The voices are much better. I find North-American dubs to be too cartoony. Brazilian and Japanese dubs sound better, but that's a matter of personal taste.

I sort of know what you mean about NA's dubs being more cartoon-y. I guess it does all depend on the series and voice acting direction/talent etc etc, sometimes there are anomalies.
