This icon was first conceived by Varaxous (she does a lot of conceiving), and is a family crest for Dusk's family and pets. It should mark each pets collar, and even can be used as part of a tattoo or brand (for the oddball pet that's into actually being -branded-... staring at you Collie, you know who you are! <3)
The concept started with the letai/sarsis symbol that sarsis created a long time ago, with a crescent and orb, the orb ontop and inside the crescent. It has been inverted here, with three tails added, extending from the bottom of the orb. The original sarsis image was symbolic of a giving hand.
