I was in such a rough spot in 2010... But renamon19 was always supportive. This image felt so comforting, and while it still does, it carries a tinge of sadness... Did... did he know his time was close? Was this an indication that he knew?
Thunder had gotten home from a rather irritating day at work, only too happy to have been greeted by his sweetheart. The eavning was nice, a warm dinner, a fun movie, then bedtime, though Thunder would occasionally stay up a little later before going to bed, often reading.
Tonight was one such night.
Rena was sound asleep in their bed, but Thunder, still clothed from his day at work, was sitting at the desk on the opposite side of the room, stairing at his reflection in the mirror mounted on it.
He wasn't really looking at anything as he simply kept thinking hard. He had seen a lot over time... Great things, terrible things... But it was funny how all those crumbled and paled in comparison to the times he played a mortal life and adhered to the rules that went along with it; love, pleasure, happiness... All came with the other side of the blade; hate, pain, sadness...
Currently, he was in an inner turmoil... He was the victim of stress of both his curent situation and his past, but it seemed so vastly worse then that at the time being. He stared at his reflection now in the near pitch black room, the only light coming from the moon behind the curtains.
"It's so hard... So many things hurt... It's like a world of pain and strife are trying to attack me... What do I do?" he said softly, under his breath, still stairing at himself, waiting for an answer.
He soon felt the familiar soft hands of Rena on his shoulders.
"Love... It will be fine... You're never alone, no matter where you are." came Rena's voice, so softly.
Thunder looked upon the reflection of Rena, seeing him standing behind him with a beautiful outfit on and... sporting large angellic wings? Thunder was tired and jaded to such things in his experiences, so he didn't really give it a second though before replying.
"Thank you... But at times... I AM alone... Like when I'm at work or in my heart at times..." Thunder was soon silenced as Rena leaned forward a bit and slowly embraced him with his wings, not saying a word as Thunder melted into the hold, his heart warming as he closed his eyes and slowly felt Rena's hands and wings release him.
He kept his eyes closed for a moment before opening them to see in the reflection that Rena was now back in bed... And sleeping soundly.
"Was that a dream?" he asked himself before shaking his head and standing up, walking over to the side of the bed that was his, and stripping down for bed. As he looked upon Rena's sleeping form, he had to smile, now understanding what Rena ment.
Thunder crawled under the covers and slid up behind Rena, wrapping his arms around Rena, posessivly, before gently kissing his neck and whispering into his ear.
"Just as your wings shall guard me, so shall my arms guard you. Just as you watch over me, so too, shall I watch over you. I now know that I will never be alone, as I've had you in my heart all along." he said softly before nuzzling into Rena's neck to slowly fall asleep.
