Delta emerges at dawn from his sleeping bag after a night of sleeping under the stars. With a morning stretch, the giant otter rises to a height of nearly three miles, easily dwarfing the vistas below. Unknown to him, Delta had spent the night in a protected national park, and soon he would be in heaps of trouble with the local parks service for disturbing hundreds of acres of pristine wilderness.

----------------

This is possibly the first in a series, but in a different format this time. I want to take my time and do them in color, and have each part work well as a standalone piece. The narrative tying them together will be a park ranger trying to get Delta's attention for his crimes against nature.

(As soon as I saw this and read the description, I felt the need to write up this silly little mini-story)

Reports of a pair of missing hikers had to be delegated to a junior ranger to liaison with police, as the giant diaper-clad otter took the senior park ranger's attention.

However, unbeknownst to the senior ranger, nor the junior ranger, and only now dawning on the hikers themselves as the cliff-side they had unsuccessfully tried to climb suddenly starts moving, they had gone taken a wrong turn and mistaken nearly a mile of thick brown fur for forest, and found themselves stuck in the elastic leg-guards of the giant diaper-clad otter himself.

On the bright side, at least the senior and junior park rangers are pursuing the same otter, even if they don;t know it yet. In the meantime, the hikers can only try to get the attention of the giant otter whom's diaper they are currently riding in the folds of...

Love it! Those hikers should be glad to be on the sightseeing tour of a lifetime. Trying to get the attention of a gentle giant like Delta just runs the risk of him demanding payment for the privilege >:D

(and now I need to write a snippet more XD I didn't write much about Delta's actions as I don't know how he would respond to this silly little scenario)

Once the panic and acrophobia subsided, the pair would settle into their soft, padded temporary campsite for the sightseeing tour of a lifetime. Afterall, it is only a matter of time until the giant otter changes his diaper, and he's bound to notice them then, right?

This rather optimistic plan had somewhat lacked the critical element of what happens before Delta needs to change his diaper.

And so, when Delta inevitably wets his diaper, the pair would discover the hard (and rather pungent) way that the weather forecast predicting clear skies and no rain had been somewhat false, and wish that they'd spent that little extra on water proof clothing rather than merely water resistant.

Still though, even with this hiking trip ending with a helicopter rescue (something both first time hikers had realistically been expecting) from the creases of a now thoroughly soaked but thankfully still very warm diaper, the pair had still found it a far more enjoyable day out than either of the novice hikers had expected.
