Watches-Waves, a member of House Telvanni, one who rose through the ranks of the Great House through honest hard work and dedication, as well as underhanded deals and deception as is typical of a Telvanni. As a powerful mage, and Wizard of the Great House Telvanni, he was given the right to grow his own mushroom tower, which he named Tel Vabrai. The tower of Tel Vabrai was completed just before his wife Silver-Fruit fell pregnant again several years after their first two hatchlings, their eldest, the silvery blue feathered daughter Floats-Among-Leaves, and her younger brother, red feathered Climbs-Many-Things. They had a home in the Telvanni heartland, but as a result of Watches-Waves many contentious actions in Port Telvannis, he decided to move his family South-West for the sake of all their safety, electing to grow the tower in the fields beneath Helnim.
Adjusting to life in a mushroom tower was an odd ordeal to Silver-Fruit and the hatchlings. They were not so well versed in the arcane arts as Watches-Waves had become, and levitation was absolutely necessary to traverse such a home, so he gifted his family enchanted bracelets that allowed them to levitate. Though this didn't stop him from using his free time to teach his wife and hatchlings magical techniques so they may levitate on their own. Floats-Among-Leaves learned rather quickly, and her younger brother Climbs-Many-Things almost proved to his dad that he didn't need to learn, given his name. But one too many tumbles from trying to climb the smooth vertical fungal shafts of Tel Vabrai proved the little lizard wrong.
For all the time that Watches-Waves spent with his children in the fields, or in the bed with his wife, he spent at least twice that time in his study perfecting his craft. His skill in destruction would allow him to incinerate an entire legion of Imperials. His skill in Illusion could trick the uninitiated into having full conversations with thin air. His skill in Alteration let him carry heavy loads or run faster than an arrow. His skill in Restoration, while nowhere near good enough to his liking, had saved his own life and the lives of others of several occasions. He had no interest in the school of Conjuration. For as much power as it would grant the power hungry Argonian, he could never bind another creature into servitude, no matter how infernal they were. The odd family soak in the bottom floor pool would be the most relaxing thing he'd do for a long time, as he often went up to a week without a wink of sleep.
There would be times when Watches-Waves would be in bed cuddling with his pregnant wife and hatchlings, and he would hear a part of himself in his head objecting to his choices. Why would he forgo his goals of doing away with evil and fear just to settle down and become just another nobody to fade away in an uncaring mess of a world? He thought long and hard about an answer, but it became obvious to him, hearing the soft relaxed breathing of his once tormented wife, and feeling the rising and falling of his children's chests, children who don't know fear or evil. This is where it begins. Tel Vabrai was like his own little plane of Oblivion. All it's inhabitants kind and loyal to him and one another. From family, to friend, to Retainer, to slave in name only, Watches-Waves had created the one place in the world he knew of where no evil took place, where people were treated fairly and with respect, where no innocent creature had to fear for themselves or others. What made Tel Vabrai great would soon spread past it's borders. Watches-Waves shut his eyes and sighed in contentment. This is truly the beginning of a better world.
