assuming he has a flame sack or something, i dont think it'd be a problem, since it'd just bypass it or whatever. would suck if he got a message while drinking though, fire everywhere =l

ROFLMAO! Great mental picture! :D Seriously, the way this comic seems to be heading, yeah, almost a guranteed drunken orgy, not that that's a bad thing. ;)

of course us dragons can get drunk. our fires r not trule in our bellies, most of us have what could be termed a 'flame sack', basically its like a crop where methane gas builds up which is produced by bacteria in our stomachs and ignited by whats called the 'thimble', its a formation (that looks and feels much like the wall of a thimble) on the roof of the mouth that contains electricity producing cells. because these cells r close together, they arc, and that ignites the methane gas when we breathe it out. Spike is a little unique though, his fire is pure magic, thats how he can send messages by burning them. either way, he can get drunk

basically, i don't intend offense; it's just an attempt to make the language easier to read in her voice. i think you'll find the actual things she says aren't stupid. in panel 3, she may not understand what pinkie's talking about, but that's cuz pinkie's keeping secrets. aj then says something observant about the group as a whole in that same speech bubble. later on this page, she's proud of her cider, but that doesn't make her a country bumpkin. she legit grew those apples. i don't think of the drawl as making her a "tard backwater hick," and neither does mlpfim, in which she does talk like a stereotypical texan. i mean, she sounds country. that's the point of the accent she actually does have in the show oO i'm just mimicking that and don't think i'm being any more callous towards her than the show is. in fact, i think neither i nor the show is being callous towards her at all. she's a likable, developed character.
if you have suggestions for how i do the drawl itself or on how to deepen her character, i'd seriously be happy to hear them.
this was actually addressed here ( https://inkbunny.net/submissionview.php?id=265558#commentid_70834
Well being a southerner my self it is a bit easier for me to give a suggestion of speech for a southern drawl. In basic, the use of "Ah" instead of the letter "i" is a bit harsh, mostly due to the way it is read, most people would more than likely over enunciate the "ah" in the way a person would if they were reading a surprised manner, or probably in the short sense that its more like "ah i get it now" but in the actual MLP-FIM show AJ actually uses the word "I" instead of going for deep southern drawl by using "Ah" but the way she uses it it be more like "Aye" instead, so if she was thinking and agreeing with someone she would say "Aye reckon" instead of "Ah reckon" you get me? One more thing to be said the dialogue (using the one on this page as an example) can change ever so slightly like so; Well aye don' rightly(rightly is used more than right down here) know watch'ur talkin' bout there Pinkie, but'chur (these you got spot on) idea sure is fine with me. Aye just think you'd better ahsk (ask spelled like that to emphasize the "a" sound) the rest of the gurls (the girls spelled like so to emphasize the "ur" sound) after me, if'in aye know anythin' uhbout (about spelled like that to put emphasis on the "a" but pronounced more like "uh") this group!"
A slight change makes all the difference but this is just my opinion, not gonna lie, loving it so far, it is just that AJ's part was a bit hard to read for me and I had to re-read it several times to grasp it all, but it might just be me.
Hope this helps ~Codie
