Okay, having seen just how more elaborate and un-conventional Kamen Rider helmets have evolved over the years, I must ask how do you see out of that thing?

No prob. I know that in the actual show for Kamen Rider and Super Sentai, they sometimes use two different lenses depending on the visor. If it's too easy for viewers to see the actor during a close-up then they use lenses that cannot be seen through. But during far-away shots and battle scenes, they use lenses that can be seen-through to make it easier to do stunts. A lot of the time, there are little holes or black spots/lenses near the "eyes" wear the actor can see through.

it's always fun watching the battles from the early Sentai shows like Goranger, JAKQ and Battle Fever J, with those 'pegboard' vision zone helmets. The staging is also glorious to behold, in a sense as heartfelt as it is cheesy. It was so appropriate watching Zenkaiger and seeing the pegboard eyepieces return! And of course they can use day-glo, one-way plastics over the eyes as they do in any set of sunglasses. For me I suppose, it's wild how they design these helmets so as to not perfectly match up with human anatomy and sightlines, adding to the alien/sci-fi feel. I recently discovered that the designer of the original Kamen Rider was also the creator of Cyborg 009. So that's cool, for sure.
