I actually did the sketch and lineart in my usual sketchbook as I normally do, on regular white paper with black pens, but coloured it with what would be the opposite colours on the colour wheel, before inverting the entire thing during post-processing.
It's a trick I've toyed with a couple of times before, and I felt it would be perfect for the endless darkness of the cave they're in here.
