Eight Star - Grand Master of the Order of Golden Lightning, a secret organization that works to hold the balance of magic in the world in proper attune.  He is immortal, powerful, and bows to a power greater than he is.  His mind is greatly unbalanced.
Quilliam Bartholomew Inkwell III - Number one Apprentice of Eight Star, also one of the few colts in the order.
Trixie Lulamoon, The Great and Powerful - One of the order's spies, and honorary shopping list incinerator...
"Chishi" Cherrystripe - The 50*Great Niece of Eight Star.  Often left in his care, and by delegation, often left in Quill Inkwell's care.
Pickpear - Expert treasure hunter and thief whose heart and loyalty belong to Eight Star, though he does not return the favor; making her love one-sided.  She is often frightened of what she'd do without his guidance, and is one of his most productive agents.
