Character Description
Liero is a toddler who was taken from his mother by a malevolent spirit as an infant and raised in a Midwestern orphanage. He was recently found and brought to his family’s home in an affluent cliffside community on the East Coast.
Haunted by spirits and treated poorly in the orphanage, he is deeply traumatized, fearful of others, and withdraws. His mother is the sole exception. He stays by her side because she is the only one he trusts.
He rarely speaks, communicating through gestures or by whispering in her ear.
His toilet training is incomplete. He uses a bedpan but needs his mother’s help. His parents added side zippers to his overalls for convenience. They are unconcerned about accidents; clothes are simply washed. They do not mind using diapers. Liero himself does not mind them either. But when an accident happens, he is the one who becomes upset and cries.

Background/History
When Liero was just a baby, a malevolent spirit took him from his mother. He was taken from his home near the U.S. East Coast to an orphanage in Central America. His mother loved him deeply, but the caretakers at the orphanage were unkind to him. The spirit would often come to haunt him. At the orphanage, he missed his mother terribly and was tormented by nightmares every night. Then, recently, his mother finally found him and brought him home.
Although even after that, the spirit would not let him go. But surrounded by his family, he will draw the strength to overcome it from them.
