I noticed my art was trending toward extreme proportions, so I did this exercise to sort of reorient myself and remind my hands what modest proportions feel like. Gwen, I like- she came out pretty cute. Natalie came out very ehhhh, but that's what exercises are for.

It's good to practice your fundamentals, since they help lay the groundwork for making the more extreme body-shapes and sizes look 'correct' anatomically.

I like this Gwen very much. I think your style very much come through in this drawing even without the exaggerated proportions you normally draw. I would love to see more like this!

I really like the way gwen came out, very similar to the way I would draw her myself, and this is actually a great help to me.

I always enjoy seeing you explore different techniques, it's very inspiring

Its nice to diversify the proportions and style at times just to avoid feeling like your doing the same thing over and over too much. I think you did a lovely job on these and looks well done overall n_n

They look pretty nice alright. Gwen's got cute anime eyes but otherwise more 'normal' proportions.

Any chance you'll do the opposite? Go even further beyond, plus ultra, into the zaniest excessive proportions you've done yet?

I did really like that one! Strange though. I was sure you had said something about this being an experiment with drawing more realistic beause you had been doing so much weird proportions lately. I wanted to joke that you could do the opposite by trying to make something weirder than ever before, if this is the most 'normal' of realistic proportions. But, that doesn't make sense without the other part. XD

Well there's a difference between 'extreme' and 'wacky.' One is trying to push the limits of what can be portrayed in a visually appealing manner, while the other is just being zany for the sake of itself.

Honestly I love both. The reason why so many hyper fans eventually "outgrow" me is because I'm always obsessively trying to make things look perfect within The Silhouette™, which I view as the most important element- meaning I don't like to go too big, too fast. Framing matters! Meanwhile going absolutely bonkers is fun- but I'm gonna go all the way, you know? Cartoonish expressions, gags, etc., you get it all or nothing with me.
