I’m really fascinated with thermochromic paint. Especially the stuff that’s used in mood rings. I like it because the colour changing threshold for the paint is enough to be affected by body heat. As opposed to the stuff used in mugs, which either requires boiling or freezing temperatures to trigger the colour change.
If I could find an artist who paints with thermochromic paint. I’d commission them to make me a badge. It would be painted on a copper due to coppers high thermocunductivity. The line art would be painted on in regular black ink. While the fur would be painted in thermochromic paint. Due to uneven heating/cooling the paint wouldn’t evenly change colours. creating random colour patterns that slowly shift.
