Alana is a professional soldier, and the heir to the throne of the second most powerful city-state on her home island of Viridis. The trouble is, she doesn't want to be. Alana is a deeply spiritual girl, and she holds fast to her father's religion which teaches that the material world is intrinsically evil and the cause of all the suffering in the world. (But don't worry, she's not the preachy sort.)
