I'm waiting for IB to allow AGIF format. It should work in all the browsers...

(It allows per-frame palettes, while GIF only has one global palette which makes fade-overs look bad. It would probably be hard to tell the difference with your pic).

I'm certain they're legit Yokai, all the other background characters were. But I'm bounced if I can find what they're called!

Spirited Away just lists them as Kashira (Literally just "Head(s)"), so they may have been a one-off for the movie. Definitely a memorable one though, to be certain.
