Episode 1: Unicorns Are Real; The Birth Of UniNeko
When Midori Katagawa was just a kitten, her mother read her a story about a kingdom of unicorns, and their magical adventure. Even as she reached her teenage years, she still believed them, despite her friends' annoyance, and one day, she would soon find out she was right.
Midori was walking to school, dressed in her school uniform of a sailor-style shirt with a red bow and pink collar accompanied by a pink skirt, and brown dress shoes over white socks, and carrying a bag with a unicorn on it. As she entered, she was seen by her best friend, Miyako Inusuke, a grey-furred husky with long black hair, as she saw the orange cat with flowing red hair.
"Really, Midori, a unicorn school bag, you still believe in unicorns," Miyako asked.
"So? I don't go and talk about how you still love superheroes aimed at little kids in front of the others," Midori said. Meanwhile, in another world, five unicorns were fleeing from a coming darkness. Soon, one unicorn, a pink one with yellow mane and tail, used her magic to shoot a portal out of her horn, as the five jumped in. Meanwhile, Midori and Miyako were having lunch in the school courtyard as they saw the portal in the sky.
"Whoa, Midori, what is that? Something made by the unicorns you believe in," Miyako asked.
"Very funny, Miyako," Midori said. Soon, the five unicorns came out and were scattered. The pink unicorn woke up on the school roof and saw she had been turned into a plush toy.
"Yikes, the queen did say the portal spell had some side effects when travelling between worlds," the pink unicorn said. Soon, a monster, a werecat in armor, came out.
"Puny unicorn, you are coming back," the werecat said. As the students saw what happened, Midori decided to sneak onto the rooftop, as she saw the unicorn come to her.
"Are you here to save me," the unicorn asked.
"I am going insane. A unicorn plush is talking to me," Midori said as she felt woozy.
"Hey, don't worry, I am real. And I have something for you," the unicorn said as she used her magic on Midori. The cat felt her clothes vanish as she saw her red hair change to blonde with a blue stripe and pink stripe as a silver horn crown appeared on the top of her head. The horn would soon fired sparks that covered Midori, dressing her in a pink-and-white dress with a light blue bow, white gloves, and pink boots. Soon, Midori saw herself and was in shock.
"Wait, what happened to me? I look like an anthro Unikitty rip-off," Midori said as she was embarrassed, as the werecat saw this.
"Puny kitten, you dare gain the power of the unicorn known as Pinkberry Lemonade, and now, I will destroy you," the werecat said as she used a thing and threw it into a bench, causing it to turn into a bench-like monster.
"Majinzu," the monster yelled.
"What the...," Midori said, as she stood her ground. Soon, a battle erupted, as Midori clashed with the monster. As she was knocked down the building and onto the school courtyard, Miyako and the others saw the event and were shocked.
"Who is that blonde cat, and is that a bench monster," one student asked.
"I dunno, but this looks like something out of a magical girl anime," another girl said as Midori kept fighting the monster. Soon, the unicorn, Pinkberry Lemonade, came to Midori and aided her.
"Ma'am, you can finish this Majinzu off with the Rainbow Beam in your unicorn crown," Pinkberry said.
"You could have told me that beforehand, talking unicorn plushie," Midori said.
"Sorry, I forgot that was a thing," Pinkberry said as Midori focused her power into the horn of her crown and a rainbow orb appeared.
"Rainbow Beam," Midori yelled as the horn fired a beam in the colors of the rainbow that destroyed the Majinzu, restoring things to normal, and revealing a magic that gets stored into Pinkberry. Soon, the others came out, and they were amazed.
"Who are you," a student asked. Midori had to think fast, and she thought up a cool name.
"Call me UniNeko. And this is my familiar, um...," Midori said in embarrassment.
"My name is Pinkberry Lemonade, but please, call me Pinkberry," Pinkberry said as the two ran off. In the homeroom, Midori managed to turn back to normal, her crown turning into a pink wand with a unicorn horn, as Midori sighed.
"Man, if this is real, I am going to be in big trouble," Midori said as she dropped to her knees.
"Don't worry, UniNeko. If we find the four friends who joined me, they can grant their magic to others to join you," Pinkberry said.
"Well, if you put it that way. However, when I am like this, call me Midori. If I'm going to transform to fight monsters like the one we fought, then I need to ensure people do not find out Midori Katagawa and Unineko are one and the same," Midori said.
"Okay, and I am Pinkberry Lemonade, but you can call me Pinkberry," Pinkberry said as Midori had her go into her school bag as the others came back.
