Everyone has a bad day at work and getting regressed last year hasn't helped any of the members of the gallant crew of the USS Levana, at least not in obvious ways.
Ensign Tacki recently blew it when he was given the conn earlier today. He had wanted it so much and it was so unexpected that... he couldn't even sit in the chair before he passed out from the excitement and bonked his head on the seat!
After waking up in sickbay and finding out what happened, Tacki had been skulking around the ship, hiding his face whenever another crew member came close. Even though the crew was very supportive, the fact that his little gaffe had spread throughout the ship was too much to bear. His fellow crewmembers may not hold it against him, but they all know that he flubbed one of the opportunities that he had been waiting for forever since graduating from the academy.
In the back of his mind, he knew he should just brush it off, but Tacki was also one of the crewmembers whose personality was profoundly affected by his regression. All he could do while he was alone was cry. All he could do in public was avoid eye contact and social interaction. At some point, Tacki found himself in the ship's lounge, looking for a snack. At that moment, a shift change occurred and a dozen or so crew members entered. The dragon hatchling darted under one of the tables and hid, crying to himself.
Some other crew members found him and called the ship's counselor, Jazzy Konin immediately. Captain Lagrange had had the poor ensign in the back of his mind since the "camping trip" they went on together a few weeks ago and immediately headed down to see if he could help. Ensign Evie Mason, a close friend of Ensign Kawabata was called over to see if he could lend a paw. Ensign Temzez, another crewmember who serves at the helm station from time to time, remembered that Tacki was a big fan of rainbow sherbet. He hoped that a little comfort food would help the hatchling at least get out from under the table.
After about 20 minutes of convincing Tacki that his career wasn't over, he finally came out. Although the ensign's eyes were still streaming tears, the affection and support he was getting from his friends seemed to help reassure him. Knowing that his commanding officer still believed in him and that his friends were still his friends, knowing that he could still have a chance at reaching his dream of commanding his own starship, it seemed like Tacki was ready to start forgiving himself for screwing up.
It would still be a long road, and many, many sessions with the ship's counselor, but maybe, with the support of his crew, Tacki was about to get things together.
VISUAL DESCRIPTION: The scene takes place in the ship's lounge of a Federation starship. Large windows are behind some tables and booths showing a blackish, purplish space sky. The color theme of the walls and furniture are warm tans and reds.
Tacki is in the middle of a group of five characters. He is rubbing his eyes and crying as sparkly tears stream from his eyes. He is a red dragon with silver hair and knubby, tan horns. He is in a red uniform with ensign's isignia. He is clad in just a red accented diaper on his bottom.
Sirius is the captain of the ship. He is a dark grey furred Irish wolfhound. He has purple highlights in his black hair, darker grey ear tips, and white fur on his hands, feet and tail tip. He is wearing the same color uniform as Tacki but with his four pips donating the captain's rank he holds. He is wearing the same style of diaper Tacki is wearing and has his left hand on the ensign's shoulder, consoling him.
Ensign Everett Mason is to Tacki's left (viewer's right) He also has his hand on the ensign's other shoulder. Evie has a worried expression on his face as he is also talking to Tacki, trying to reassure him. Everett is a purple badger with neon aqua colored hair. His eyes are the same color. His fur is a dark neon purple with lighter neon purple markings on his face. He's a bit chubbier than some of the other crew members. Evie is in the engineering division, so his uniform is gold. Evie is wearing something resembling an abri form diaper with yellow and blue lines going from top to bottom.
Ensign Temzez is a Saurian (with much more feathers than they are normally portrayed with). He has red feathers and a tan, dino-like muzzle. He has tan feet and hands along with black, smoothed out talons. He is in the operations division, so he also has a gold uniform like Ensign Mason. He has a similar diaper to Tacki and Sirius but has yellow accents instead of red. He is holding a metal bowl of rainbow sherbet with a metallic spoon coming out of it. He is looking at Tacki with a concerned expression.
Lieutenant Jazz Konin approaches the group from the viewer's left holding a bonsai tree. He looks concerned, but ready to assist the ensign during his crisis. Jazzy's fur is medium grey with lighter tan accents under the muzzle and tail as well as palms of hands and soles of feet. He has dark grey dreadlocks that are dyed neon purple at the tips. His right eye is green colored and he has a black patch of fur on his cheek that looks like a moon. Jazzy is wearing black shorts over, presumably, some slip on training pants accented a dark blue. He has a blue science/medical division uniform with two lieutenant's pips.
