Good question, I didn't think about that. Probably cub/ child instinct snuggling up to the adult lion, for comfort.

two things:
1st: thanks to both of you for this, i'm enjoing it.
2nd: the last three panels show him living his age and re-learning his adult skills. this also made me wonder about his mind.

I'd say he still has most of his adult mind, he just child/ cub instincts. Also the gods/ lions are teaching him fighting skills that only they kbow, as well as teaching him the law of thier realm and weapon crafting with thier materials.
