It's a bit of both I think. Like a lot of species in the Tree of Life setting she seems to be a combination of two animals, in her case apparently parrot and some kind of mammal I can't quite figure out. The tail and forest lifestyle makes me think chipmunk, maybe.

Yes, she is a kind of hybrid. I wanted to combine an elf (or a fairy) and a bird, but I wanted to give her something between feathers and soft, fluffy fur. You could say something like "featherfur" :D And that's how the Elvians were created :)
