Just a lil pic of my Cabbit Dylan. Few tweaks to his basic design but not too much has changed about his look.

They say change can be hard. Well they don't know the half of it. Dylan was someone who prided himself in his abilities. Well mostly. He was a huge nerd and his academic abilities tended to be what he cared about most but that wasn't to say he didn't care about other things. He was actually a decent dancer though was often to shy to dance in front of people. Balt was the only one he felt comfortable dancing around. Maybe Lig too. He could do a lot of things really. Sure potty training wasn't one of those things but in a town like Denshire Falls it was hardly a big thing. Being medically incontinent it wasn't something he could really help either.

But of course there were some things he had a hard time doing. Even as he got a bit older and everyone was able to do more and more there was one skill which he had a hard time with. It wasn't to say that he couldn't do it mind you. Merely that while others found it easy, he had to put more thought and effort into it. Then again maybe that was a problem. Maybe he was actually thinking too much. Others just seemed to go on autopilot when they did it. But what IS this skill that Dylan would have difficulty mastering. The fine art of changing one's own diaper.

Now he could certainly change others and indeed had been for quite a while. He quite liked helping out others and changing them. Of course it was sorta tradition to help someone who helped you so Dylan most times would wind up getting a hand himself and being changed by someone else. Given Balt, Lig, and himself were best friends and often hung out together it usually wasn't an issue. Someone was always around to offer up a hand and help with changing.

However moments like this one were harder. There were times when occasionally both Balt and Lig would be otherwise occupied and he'd have to do things himself. He didn't know why he had such a hard time with his. He felt like a butter fingers and always worried. Was it on just right? Too loose? Too tight? Did he get anything on the tapes? Would they pop? Would he leak? Would it be at just the worst moment? Worry. All these thoughts may well have been what gave the cabbit so much trouble. Still he was a big cabbit. Ok maybe a big baby cabbit. But he'd push on and continue to try.

So he'd do just that. Untape his bloated sagging diaper and drop it in the diaper pail before cleaning himself up with the wipes. Next would be powder which after rubbing in he had to make sure he had cleaned his paws off really well. Powder and tapes didn't go well together. Then would come the hard part. The diaper itself. Tail was easy. Some diapers had tapes over the tail, especially for furs with larger tails, but many often had elastic which made things much easier for Dylan. He'd thread his tail through first and that would hold the diaper in place. Now to bring the diaper up into place and tape it up. Dylan could never settle on wither he should lay down or stand for this part. Situation would tend to dictate it and he reminded himself that would always be the case so he'd need to be able to do it both ways. So he stood. He did the right side first trying to press against the wall so his diaper wouldn't move. Then came the left. Giving it a slight tug after he sighed as it only gave some minor give. He checked the diaper over and rechecked. Finally he gave a relieved sign, satisfied that he probably wouldn't leak. Change was Hard. But it was getting a bit easier each time. Even if each time would always make him feel nervous.
