As a fan of colorful Rhythm Action games, I can think of 3 stages right now all from separate games that involve bathroom desperation, maybe 4 or even 5 if we count things that happen within a stage. In all of these examples, release is framed as a failure state. For a while now, I'd been thinking 'What if letting loose was the beginning of the stage itself?'
Here is one such example, a parody mockup of such a stage where you've got to use your Rhythm Skills to help the situation! In other Rhythm games, you use unique skills such as cheerleading, rapping, guitar playing and reporting skills to accomplish things that have nothing to do with the activity at hand, but it works out somehow! So, are your rhythm skills up to the test? Can you accomplish the goal stated above just off of rhythm and rhyming and stuff like that?
Translations/Localization! I just love the idea of organizing other translations/localization from others interested in helping out if you know another language.
Thanks to TK the turtle for the French translation/localization! I don't know much French but I handwrote it up there.
for the Portuguese translation/localization. I know hardly any of this too, but it's mostly from him. Mostly, hehe.
And thanks to a certain helpful weasel for the Spanish translation/localization! I should know a lot more of it but I didn't have a lot of reasons to actually use it growing up.
4-14-24 And thanks to knms360 for the awesome translation for the Japanese version! I love it! It's so rare to see stuff like this in Japanese, hehe. knms360からすごい日本語翻訳にありがとうございますね!とても好きだ!こんなことが日本語に書いたとは珍しいですね
Very pleased at the translations, I'd love to know if it's interesting to others too. I'd love to make this a more consistent thing for everything I do, as long as others don't mind helping hehe.
Parappa is probably the most famous example, yeah. Lammy has like a one line mention of a baby needing to go potty, that hardly counts though. Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan for the DS has an extremely tense stage that takes place on a train. Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2 for the DS has a stage dedicated to not wetting the bed. Wario Ware's stage centered around Dr. Crygor involves getting into a bathroom complete with potty dancing, so I think it counts. Elite Beat Agents for DS shows actually a second or so of actual cartoonish diaper loading, so it's not strictly desperation but there's urgency to do something about it, so I stretch it a little here. I'm only counting games I grew up with and were likely untouched by knowledge/influence of kinks prior, so Nekomew doesn't make the cut.

Actually I shouldn't be so dismissive towards Nekomew, I was just jealous it did what I and others wanted to do for a long time. So rather than not even an honorable mention, I should say it is actually the model for prospective developers like myself.

I just realized I counted "Wario Ware" as a Rhythm Action game. Hah! I probably embellished on the examples but, you know what, who cares. poo-poo in video games

Indeed, I own all 3 of those games physically. I can still listen to Bambina, but One Night Carnival, I can no longer hear it without thinking of the stage and it makes me nervous @w@; as I've said elsewhere, the time of 'going = failure state' is passe now. 'going = scenario start' is where I think things should be headed :3

Ddddooh ho thanks kittaey >w> I'm going to handwrite your Portuguese translation and try to put that one next, and I'm glad to compare this to my other Spanish contact >w>! I'll see to his after that. Gosh, what a rush it is to hear potty terms in other languages. What a sentence I just wrote! ;w;!;;

If I could pin this comment, I would. Thank you a whole bunch for this comment ;w; It's really good! ;w; This is exactly the kind of thing it would be like ;w; also, the idea of hearing the word butthole in a rhythm game, oh my goodness.
