I like how in your universe, hermaphroditism is genetic, i.e. if two herms mate and produce a child, the child has a greater chance of being a hermaphrodite.

I templated out some intersex gene things a while back, basically works like the XY except that it was for controlling the degree of intersex (eg, if we use AB for the other pair, XY AA is male, but XY BB is andromorph, then an XY AB gets you a herm; as does XX AB)

Interesting. Another writer said that true hermaphrodites (of the mammalian type) are the result of the fusion of two zygotes (one male and one female) and that's why they have both male and female sex organs.

Oh yeah, IRL there's a few ways it can happen in species where it is abnormal. I was thinking more "furry genetics" than anything applicable to the real world.

Yeah, that's what I figured. I don't create herm characters so I never really researched it.
The writer I mentioned is writing a story in which one of the characters has two moms one of whom is also "her" father. (She's a trans.) Yes, the "father" is a hermaphrodite.

Yep, I've read Altrue's thingers. As for whether you call a herm mother or father (irrespective of gender pronouns here) depends on which biological role they served, so one of Altrue's moms is his biological father, the other his biological mother (and then calls them mom due to pronoun usage).
I'm familiar, I've got a herm character of my own.

Actually, the writer I'm thinking of isn't Altrue. His name is IndigoNeko. He wrote the story, "Revelations", and is currently working on two other stories that, in the story's universe, run concurrently. One of the two stories is "Yerba Mate" and the other is "Zavarka". It's in Zavarka that he has the trans girl (I'm not sure how to word it since the character's body is male.) whose "father" is the hermaphrodite.

It's an interesting story. It's one of two sequels to the story, "Revelations". The main characters are Christina Paige, a hermaphrodite Yapok (water o'possum), who's in a relationship with her (the author chooses to call Christina by female pronouns) mother and Elizabeth Stouffer, a stoat/ferret hybrid who has heritage traits of early estrus from her mother and aplastic anemia from her father. In other words, from the time Elizabeth was 6 months old, she had to have sex every year and, more importantly, she has to be ejaculated into to prevent the anemia from killing her. If you decide you want to check out "Yerba Mate", I would suggest reading "Revelations" first to know what's going on.

You are correct. He should be pregnant with Karin. However, the artist I got this from doesn't do cub stuff, and considering he is canonically 11 here, I figured it was best that I just leave that little detail out for this one. I would like to remain in good graces with this artist.
