NICE ONE! When I was in the military, we weren't really allowed to have coffee. However I volunteered to attend two Soldier Appreciation days at local churches, and we finally got to have coffee and sweets! ^^

Really? We have ridiculous amounts of coffee and energy drinks, and I even took caffeine pills x3 Likely because I'm a sailor, not a soldier ;p How long were you in?

I only lasted 7 months and one day. I got injured before I could finish Basic. I was stationed in Fort Benning.

That's a shame. I'm guessing you got a Med Chapter once you were healed up?
What kinda injury did you get?

Yep, I got medboarded. Shin splint, stress fractures (left knee and right heel), scoliosis and degenerative joint disease (left knee).

Yikes! That sucks... Lots of people get  shin-splints and stress fractures from BCT. Bit surprised the DJD got past MEPS.

I have proof from Captain Hightower (one of the doctors who observed me) that I do have scoliosis. Before I was sent home, a civilian doctor fucked me and other battle-buddies over; I'm currently 20%. That asshole civvy claimed one of my ailments occurred before I enlisted.

It was during Confidence Course that I banged my shin real bad; was on crutches for 3 days. As training went on, I developed the stress fractures, etc. X-rays showed nothing, but once I had a bone scan that was it for me. Spent recuperating from bay to bay until I received an honorary medical discharge. The Army pays me forever for my injuries.

Sorry to hear about the horrible injury, but you got lucky on landing the honorable med discharge. Lucky meaning that they could've stuck you with nothing.

Also, of course you weren't allowed to have coffee. You were in Basic, silly.

Enjoy it, may be the last decent cup you get for quite some time if I recall.

Wow, you military kids must have it easy...you even get chairs!  We were lucky to get a lump of dirt, and we had to dig just to get that :)

One thing I've always wondered about furs in the military, is what kind of regulation you'd have on tails.
