The only sounds you could hear in the small hangar were the gentle hum of electronics and the tapping of quick fingers on a tablet screen. “Good, a pretty quiet day today. Can finally do that maintenance on my on ship I’ve been meaning to do.” Robyn muttered to herself as she get her workday started. “Just need to get out the ol’ toolkit.” Now, the young mechanic knew she probably should tidy up the maintenance closet one of these days, but she was not expecting a tied up and gagged bat to come tumbling out. “Ruby!? What are you-” But the raccoon stopped herself when she realised the thick cloth bound over her Tillian friend’s muzzle made it impossible for her to answer her surprised questions. Going by the sound, or lack thereoff, the mechanic assumed she also had a big ball of cloth stuffed into her mouth as well.
“Hmm rmmbph…” Ruby mumbled sheepishly, trying to sit upright while still tightly trussed. The raccoon chuckled softly. “Oh, I see. Got into another argument with Tori, huh?” Rubby nodded. “Ymmmh…” “So what was it about this time? Playing your music too loud? Using up her wardrobe space?” The rotul mechanic cheekily kept guessing while helping Ruby up on a crate. “Ah! Was it staying up too late while Tori was on the early morning shift?” The silver-furred bad sighed. “Ymph… nmw wmhnt ymh mntmmph mh?”
“Hm? Untie you?” Robyn raised an eyebrow, then ducked back into the closet to get her toolbox. “Yeah, when I go for my coffee break in two hours.” “Whmmt!?” Sounded the indignant, muffled screech. The mechanic casually walked by the distressed bat, tool box in hand. “Well, for starters, I’m on the clock right now. Got diagnostics to run, flight systems to update. I can’t mix myself in your private squabbles. Besides, you clearly haven’t learned your lesson.” Robyn gave a wink before stepping into her ship.
“You get comfy over there, and I’ll see you in two hours!”
