Contest entry for a fan art club on dA.

I imagine Vanilla rarely takes vacations, even for a day. I also imagine Vector might be good at getting her to do it just a bit more often.

Solvent marker, watercolor pencil, black fineliner, ink pencil, white gel pen. Effective drawing time appr. 10 hours.

I-... Is that a new muzzle style?? Because while Vanilla looks very cute with it, Cream looks absotively adorabibble. @_@
Even Vector looks endearingly cute somehow. What sorcery is this? <3

It is! I try out a lot of design changes lately. :D Going through real-life ref to see if I can make Sonic chars look more like real animals without sacrificing the toony look. (Furry noses and puffy faces are the main things here, and the ear design. I am trying to make the ears register as ears, and register as hair, at the same time.)

I'm pretty freaking happy with how Vector came out here, it's the first time I draw him. Went by the old design (for the Chaotix game for the 32X). He didn't have chains and stuff on, was leaner, and constantly hooked up to a walkman, dancing around when you left him idle. XD (Also his rolling attack looked like an inner tube, which is where the basic idea for this pic started.)
