In the past, it was common for games to end abruptly and forcibly (bad endings) like this.
But I think this is the right place to start. We should enjoy our lives in other creatures.

Then there was the Choose Your Own Adventure book "You Are A Shark" which, contrary to the title, had you transforming into a variety of different animals (and at one point a tree), most of which corresponded to events that were not an end. To the point that, some of the "endings" seemed more like they'd been cut off too soon and you could have gone on from there.

Sounds interesting.
The series has been translated into Japanese, but "You Are A Shark" seems to be untranslated.
I used to play a lot of the gamebooks and liked to deliberately go down different routes (often allowing you to get important items and magic apart from the bad endings).

Incidentally, I tried to find that book, but it seemed to have a premium and was going up in price.
