A piplup and an oshawott both claimed to each other that they could safely swim in quicksand (Despite never trying before), and they decided to see who was better at it. Hopping into a pool of it, it wasn't long before they realized how much harder swimming in quicksand was than simply swimming in water, and both pokemon soon sank underneath. So exhausted from struggling to swim, neither could hold their breath anywhere near as long as normal, and their fearful whines turned to pained gurgles as they both started to choke, first the piplup, then the oshawott.
