Allow me to introduce you all folks this Dutch-Belgian 2D-animated holiday movie from 8 years ago (2014) that is called “Trippel Trappel Dierensinterklaas”, about three house pets who go on this adventure to give Sinterklaas (the Dutch figure of Santa Claus) their wishlist.
And these three are the main characters, the first being Fretje/Freddy the ferret (who oddly shares the same English name as another cartoon ferret, Freddy from Nickelodeon’s “Barnyard” franchise).
Second is Kari/Cary the canary, and third is the walking stick bug, Takkie/Mosus/Walker.
While browsing the internet, I stumbled upon this movie and became totally smitten by how adorbs Fretje looks.😍😻🥰 I absolutely adore his design, expressions, and his character. He’s such a cutie.
In fact, the character designs and overall animation look great, too.
And the movie, while simple, looks cute and somewhat wholesome from the trailersI’ve seen. I doubt it would be great by any means, but I’d be delighted to watch it if it were that easy to find it online. I tried finding at least the Dutch or French dubs somewhere on the web for free, but some were on streaming services from the respective countries where you have to pay for them.
I also looked up that an English dub was also made, I think, and had a screening at some festivals, but it has yet to be on DVD or streaming in North America.
But, luckily, I did manage to find the actual full movie somewhere on YouTube, in Polish, but it’s better than not finding it at all, despite not having English subtitles.
Expect this good ferret boi and maybe his friends to be in my future art sooner or later.
