This is the primary reason the spell "Prestidigitation" has the ability to alter the flavor of foods: To make daily rations edible.

this is giving me flashbacks to my military years

tho i believe the (lack of good) taste is purposely done to avoid soldiers to snack on them when they have no need for all that extra energy

Pre MREs. A sort of "Biscit" that would keep almost indefinitely and that you would most likely brake your teeth on.

Love that they're comisserating over this. Might give them a reason to work together on making some decent food, thus bonding.
For some reason though, I'm picturing them passive aggressively trying to get rid of the taste using the others tongue (ie making out)? I don't get it either.
