I wanted to do some fun YCH art stuff for Halloween, and decided to go off the beaten path away from the sexy witches and cool zombies, and give mummies a turn in the spotlight. The mommy/mummy joke seemed fun to play with, so here we are! I had a good time drawing this whole set, especially the scary mummy version, ha ha!
The baby characters are all dressed as scarabs, btw! It was tough to think of something to theme with a mummy. What would you have picked as a paired costume?
Bonus points, the older raccoon character's name is Mum.

Aw, this is adorable. I love sweet little mother/child moments like this, and these two are just precious. I love the idea of dressing the kiddos as scarabs, which does fit the whole Egyptian mythology thing quite nicely. Cats might've worked well, too, since as I recall, the ancient Egyptians used to mummify cats from time to time as well. Though that might lead to undue confusion in furry circles, too.
I love how he's tugging at her wrapping, and the little splash of color for their blue eyes is a great touch. Fantastic work all around!

Thanks very much! I really liked adding that point of contact where the baby is gripping the cloth, I feel like it makes such a huge difference for being such a small thing. And a cat costume would totally make sense! But I think you're right that it would be confusing specifically because of furry art, ha ha
