this is the overture i wrote for a full length rock opera album i was all keen to do. but after a while i lost interest in the idea and decided to put it on the back shelf. this was the only track from the whole album i actually finished (even though it still has some rough edges). but it IS the overture so it goes through a few of the themes for the different songs in the opera.
The story i planned out for it was called "the book of dark magic". in a nutshell, twilight recieves a book from an anonimous source containing a list of spells she had no idea about. after taking it to celestia she finds out these spells are darker magic, and celestia actually forbids her from using them, warning her that only dark things come from spells like that.
however twilights natural curiousity gets the better of her and she starts to use the spells, feeling the intense power of dark magic. but with each use the book takes a stronger hold on her mind and soul.
i may still finish it one day, as i wanted to include various friends and family from the comunity and my life in the recording. per example i wanted my dad to be the singing voice for celestia :P
but i figured why not give you guys and galls a listen to it. maybe you can convince me to continue it or tell me to forget the idea completly :D
