Character Sheet for Ty Roland
Nickname(s)
Ty, Tyroland
Sex/Gender
Polygender Enby
Species
Cat-derived Shamichoro + SoundFont-san
Age
Born in 1999
Character Description
This is a sona consisting of an anthropomorphic soundbank, with its most beautiful patch being a Shamisen (Japanese instrument). In Japanese mythology, a Shamichoro is a haunted Shamisen, and shamisens in the olden days used cat leather (which is no longer used). So thus this SoundFont-san's sona is a feline to reference that.
Personality
They have a very dreamy personality, and tend to be happy with whatever is thrown at them under most circumstances. They often try to enhance what they run into when possible. They have their head in the clouds and are also neurodiverse and plural. They aren't a fan of corporate work, instead choosing to be self-employed making music for a living, and doing so very well. They are very creative.
Likes/Dislikes
Likes: Most MIDI files, especially Shamisen, classical, orchestral, cinematic, rock, and such, especially General MIDI.
Dislikes: MIDIs loud enough to clip (tons of notes, like 10K), MT32 MIDIs, FB01 MIDIs, and formerly XG MIDIs.
Background/History
This sona was done as a "why not" based on Tyroland being splittable into a name of Ty Roland, and then it all went from there.
Relatives/Family
Other Japanese Tsukumogami (the Shamichoro is one of these), and the parents would be the Yamaha Tyros 4 and Roland JV-1010.
World/Setting
Japan, but in the mythological domain.
Body
They are a lighter-faced feline with dark eyes and fur outside the face. They are quite skinny.
Clothing
A Japanese cloak is worn.
Accessories
A Shamisen pick (known as a Bachi)

In the spirit of making fursonas for OS-tans made out of my digital works, here's another one.

Here's the story: Ty is an anthropomorphic SoundFont. SoundFonts are essentially virtual instruments based on collections of samples that MIDI music can be played with, or songs can use. The SoundFont in question is my Tyroland SoundFont (https://musical-artifacts.com/artifacts/1305), which is highly realistic. The Shamisen in it is absolutely beautiful. In Japanese folklore, there is an anthropomorphic shamisen known as the Shamichoro. Now, high quality ancient shamisens used cat leather (modern shamisens use plastic). Thus the species of the sona is of course feline. This idea is in the spirit of an OS-tan, (OS-tans are female anthropomorphic software, but since Ty is nonbinary and a SoundFont, this is a SoundFont-san). Now, as for what the color means, it's a reference to the unrelated Black Tyros SoundFont, (Tyroland is based on the Tyros 4.) The weight refers to the amount of presets in the first version, and the height (162 cm) is a metric reference to the amount of presets in a slightly later revision. I am an American, so that is where the American bit comes from. I wanted this to look similar to the palette of a Shamichoro, in which the light-colored area of a Shamisen hosts the face. A non-Japanese analogue to a Shamisen would be a Banjo. But not a replacement. Since Tyroland is based on a Tyros 4, the Enneagram type of 4 is the obvious choice. The blood type of A+ is derived from 4 being A, and T being + (leetspeak), but reversed (or not, because the Tyros 4 is the 4th Tyros.) My use of They/Them for this character is based on Ty and They starting with T. The fact that They ends in Y helps.

The sona was made with ThisFursonaDoesNotExist (http://thisfursonadoesnotexist.com), which uses StyleGAN2 trained on 55K worksafe furry images, with a seed of 65663, and then ThisAnimeDoesNotExist (https://thisanimedoesnotexist.ai/) was used, with a seed of 83819. I don't know what it is trained on.
