I wanted to do something different last year for my Christmas Card, something.. special. So I decided to so a mini comic based on one of my favourites songs from one of my favourite Christmas movies.
Deep down, I am a big sentimentalist, despite my anger, rage against the stupidity in the world and those that propagate it, and despite all my sadness and depression, I still feel love and hope for those in this world and a warmth inside when I stop for a moment and just enjoy the moment.
Deep down, I do worry far too much, about finances, taking care of the household and family, making sure everything works and everyone is taken care of. I always feel like there is never enough, or I am not good enough.. there is never enough time, and I am always tired. I feel sad because I have to miss out on things, and I miss having friends around in person, though I can still talk to them via the interwebs or phone calls.
This song, from the movie White Christmas, written by Irving Berlin, and sung by Rosemary Clooney and Bing Crosby, always hits me in the feels. And it does make me remember that I am blessed. I have a warm bed to sleep in, a full belly, a loving yet sometimes annoying dog, and a working computer to stay in touch with everyone. I might not be rich or have much standing, but I reminded that I am content in what I have.
This might not be the best coloured image, and I am sorry for this. I am not yet full used to using a computer to colour. I was in a bit of a rush last year, trying to get this done and out before Christmas. I hope those that got their cards enjoyed them as much as enjoyed making this. I am hoping I can make this years more fun and enjoy able...
