Now hold still, 'cause this'll only hurt more if you squirm!
A little something to celebrate earning my phlebotomy certification back in July. I grew up watching re-runs of the original Star Trek series, and I've always held a special admiration for Dr. McCoy. Kirk might have been the hero, and Spock was undoubtedly the brains of the outfit, but McCoy was the heart, and probably the most human of all of them. I could never hope to live up to that, not least because the full extent of my medical training only covers how to properly insert a needle in a vein. Still, as ridiculous as it might sound, my desire to help people stems largely from my early love of Star Trek and its ideals.
Yes, she's wearing the male version of the uniform. I don't care that it's inaccurate. There's no damned way I'd face unknown dangers in a damned miniskirt!
Congrats on your Phlebotomy cert. My fiance recently got hers as well so I know what it takes to become one. I was also a pin cushion on a number of occasions. Excellent work on the pic and there's nothing wrong with the uniform. Miniskirts be damned! lol

Thanks! It took a while, but I'm quite happy to have actually made it. Especially considering that all of my previous jobs were in factories, which didn't exactly prepare me for what little medicine I had to know. But it has actually been pretty interesting so far.
Glad you like the picture! Oli did a great job with it, and I have to say I think my girl looks rather good like that. Needle and all!

Oh wow! *w* I wouldn't mind such a leutenant at my base to watch over the ill soldiers! ^_~ And in army, all the girls wearing male version of the uniform, so i wont laugh))
Also, congrats with the certificate! ^w^

So far, I think you're the only person who has actually been eager for her attentions! Everyone else has taken one look at the needle she's holding and run far away. It's not like it even hurts that much!
Thank you!

Well, when i was in hospital, i got used to it.. 2 times per day per 10 days or even month! Depends on how mush i hurt my head or broke the hand! X3 And those med sisters did that so painful! XC So i bet you have a soft hand, such a cute girl can't be violent to her patients.. ^_~
You're very welcome, sweety! *cuddle you warmly*

A few early first season episodes showed the occasional background female crewmember wearing trousered pilot uniforms, which were similar enough to the series uniforms to pass for them. Furthermore, "Charlie X" showed the trousered version of the series uniform on a young woman the titular Charlie Evans prematurely aged. It was a cost-cutting measure as a uniform was cheaper than "aging" the actress' legs. Since we only saw part of the crew of one starship and a tiny smattering of personnel from the rest of Starfleet, we really don't know how common the trousered uniforms were compared to the miniskirts.
The only real suggestion I'd make here would be to adjust the shirt collar to more resemble the cut of the collar of the miniskirt uniforms by making the front come down a little bit lower. Overall, I support your choice of uniform.
Also, you appear to be allergic to Retinax.
Actually, this is accurate. A few early first season episodes showed the occasional background fem
Oh yeah, I know all that, but when I originally posted this I had a number of people either tell me that I'd put her in the "wrong" uniform, or assume that Oli had done it by mistake. So I added the last paragraph to try to quell some of that, as I don't like people criticizing artists for things I asked them to do.
I like the idea of lowering the collar, and if I ever get her drawn in this outfit again I might do that. Also, yes, apparently I am allergic to the stuff. That's okay. Megan looks cuter with glasses on, anyway.

Oh, sorry. I just wanted to make it obvious that I wasn't one of those who thought you/Oli had done it wrong. After all, I've noodled with Starfleet uniforms myself in the past. -->
