A few days came by, they hadn’t done anything intimate besides cuddling or simply sleeping and resting together, sonic started to feel free and calm near him instead of his usual nervous attitude, his energy boosts simply disappeared and he began feeling safe and calm near him, his speed was normal as always but what changed was his need of running to feel the freedom he needed to feel, for now he felt free and comfortable right where he was, a feeling Amy never gave him when they were together, and a thing that unconsciously made his heart hurt more.
Night came by and he couldn’t but wonder how tails was comfortable with the change on their routine or he was feeling comfortable at all. They went to bed as usually and the hedgehog looked at the fox with lowered ears and a fearful voice.
-sonic: do you… feel ok with these?
-Tails: feel ok with what my blue boy?
The fox caressed his cheek as he wrapped the blue hedgehog on his tails wanting him to feel safe and comfortable.
-sonic: i…I just…don’t want you to…. leave like she did… even before we got married…before we had Ib…... i knew she wasn’t …” pleased” with me… I…I am not…really.. good at these things… I’m not really a good couple... i.. i am simply a terrible mate..
-tails: why do you think that? I think you are just perfect...
The fox pets sonic gently as he closes his eyes while pulling him nearer to his chest
-sonic: I am just…not good at all…...she... made it clear for me…a lot of times…. Cheating on me... even back where we weren’t married…back when we just were dating…I knew she was seeing him…and... I tried so hard to make her happy so she would stop…. But she never did…he… He is simply better than me…in all aspects…and…I think anyone is…w-why are you with me?... I mean...i am a hero and... we’ve known us since…we were young… but... I just don’t see anything… “lovable” in me….. my boddy is ..u-ugly...it's simply so..so...hateable... so...heinous....so.....horrible and.. an-
The fox simply smiles and stand up to bring a plastic bag with something inside before sonic can finish speaking, he lays down again and wraps the hedgehog with his tails giving the bag to him.
-Tails: I simply see a marvelous heart.. a person who loves everyone so deeply he has sacrificed his life to make sure the world is ok, a person that always has helped those in need…and…my hero…
the fox opens the bag letting sonic see a yellow handmade scarf. The fox then proceeds to put the scarf on sonic as he keeps giving him affection.
-Tails: I see a hero so humble... and so…... handsome… I see a beautiful heart that is filled with scars…but...i wouldn’t mind healing them...i..wouldn’t mind..
The fox cuddles his head on he’s and smiles as sonic began feeling happy and embarrassed in a way.
-Tails: I wouldn’t mind…giving you my heart instead...
